I'm always up for a poker meet, however working weekends at the moments so might not be able to make it.

I do have the last two weeks of February off if that's any good.

Maybe, depends if you lot can put up with me...

Cheers for the info DML. Are both open and run late on Saturday nights? Is there a chance I might get mugged as I'm weak and frail? Thinking of doing a bit of live play as I haven't had chance to do as casino since Goliath, could make it a mini-weekend trip thingy with the Cov match. I've always found Grosvenor's alright- been in the one at the Ricoh and one down in Brighton which seemed decent.

Well Cov and Brighton are MUCH better casinos then the Gunwharf one, but it does at least sound like they have pulled their socks up. To be honest they should have done it sooner - the South must have the highest rate of 'poker players per capita' or whatever.

Both are open late - Gunwharf you wouldn't get mugged...the Phoenix however....

...nah just make sure theres a taxi outside if its a big win.

EDIT - Also, we put up with Drum, so I'm sure we could cope.

Hm...I may stick withe the gun wharf then, needing an emergency taxi seems like a bad sign if you ask me. Although it might be you and PPM mugging me, knowing how weak I am :p

Last 2 weeks of feb would be good for me too.

Nah seriously, its not so bad. I just wouldn't wanna be walking out down the street with £500 or something. A win less then £150 and I'll take my chances! The Phoenix is not a full on casino, but the players are SO much worse. Its a potential goldmine, but recently I've ran so bad there. :x

Grosvenor Casino - The Phoenix is in Waterlooville.

And just as it crossed my mind - has there ever been a poker tournament structured like the Royal Rumble? Every few minutes a new player joins the fray? That surely has the potential to be amazing does it not?

I think that'd depend entirely on whether people got their own entrance music or not.

Would a player get the starting stack, or would you get an increased stack as the tournament wore on?

I'd definitely be in for some sort of Pompey meet. Still haven't played at the Phoenix for cash :fp: and I've played about 4 or 5 tournaments up at Grosvenors. Think I've cashed 3 times.

I can protect you DR, if anyone saw you with me they'd leave us alone*.

I'd be no use.

PPM for personal bodyguard.

Actually, I like the Royal Rumble idea. If it was a cash game at say, 10/25NL stakes- once you lose your stack, you're gone.

GRSOP 2013? :dread:

8-) Hopefully we travel as well as we have been, been sending hundreds to every game. I want to taste the Pompey atmosphere!

A poker meet is easily organised if you guys can get accomadation at a Travelodge or something. It just becomes a ball-ache if we have to sort having you guys crash and stuff - I don't have my own place yet. If those non-Portsmouthians are up for organising accomdation then we could do it my the end of the month.

I'm sure we could organise that in a night or two if we thought about it.
