Can't say I'm really getting into my poker at the moment, but did just go out of a Zoom event in 28th of 3800. Frustrating to see my AA go against Q2 on QT9 board for huge double up, but never mind. Turn was a Q, river a 2, just to rub it in

Anyone playing the $1 tourney at 5pm I think it is to break the record for more than 200,000k players ?

I played a bunch of FPP qualifiers and even got heads up once but no luck. It's bedtime here in Japan and I have work tomorrow so probably just as well too.

I've entered. Partly just so I can say I'm a world record holder.

I've somehow stumbled into the final 6,000 or so of the World Record tourney. Normally I wouldn't post about that, but that means I've somehow bested (read: coinflipped) around 220,000 other people.

editL Busto in 4400th or so. Got crippled by running AK into AA pre then just shoved on my blind.

Just quadrupled up in the sunday storm. Sadly only had 4BB at the start of it  running so bad. Got it in with AK vs AQ vs AQ plus the blinds...

Had a freeroll starting at 8 on Stars through RakeTheRake but turned up about 10 minutes into it and there's no late reg, curses. :x

Area final of our pub poker league today. 30 people turned up and I came 4th, played pretty solidly until I went card dead 4-handed and then, blind on blind, shoved my K6 into bullets. :datass:

DML played too and busted in 10th but was pretty unlucky not to final table, decent day though! Shame the prizes are so tiny, only 4 places paid with me receiving 50,000 :o ... LPPL shop points. Which is worth about £40. Haven't looked yet but it's usually rubbish like toasters and bottles of wine on there, excellent. Even first place only gets a buy-in to a 'Poker Occasions' event worth a couple of hundred quid, apparently. Last year there were sometimes trips to Vegas for the winner.

Inexplicable play by some guy doubles me up to 46k.

I raise CO with K6ss (guy is all in for 90 chips with the blinds at 600/1200). BB flat calls. Flop comes a bingalicious K65. BB leads for 8500 into a 5000 chip pot, and still calls my ship for 20,000 with 77 :|

Donks gonna donk.

As a play with his hand, I do really like leading out there, albeit for around a third of the pot. He'd set himself up to find out exactly where he is in the hand and potentially begin pot controlling OOP.

Alas, you showed him where he was and he wouldn't listen.

Well exactly. It was the overbet and then call after getting info that baffled me.

Shoulda final tabled today - called a shove on the blinds with A-9o, he turns over 10-4o.

4-8-9-10-Q.

Out in 1200th ish. Second time recently I've gotten that deep, just played a hand badly with 55 that left me very low in chips.

Low pocket pairs will eat up your stack playing shallow. In theory, you're supposed to ditch anything below 77 with less than 20bbs, unless you're on the CO/Button, in which case you open shove. In reality, it's v. tempting to minraise 22-66 and fold to any 3bet. People use implied odds as an excuse far too often when discussing set mining - they don't count if you're very shallow.
