Been playing a few MTT's tonight and it's just been bad beat after bad beat. Pocket pairs have been absolutely useless for me, even aces always lose me chips

Well I laid down JJ to two all-ins only to see 66 against 99 :fp:

I then lost with QQ against 66 lucky for me he was a short stack.

I've just lost a big pot before the break with my two pair against a gut shot on the flop.

I'm now 16th in chips with 48 players remaining and i'm sat just above the average stack.

I'm sat at 14/35 players so i'm in the money i'm just above average with 22k.

Books Super System II is great.

Helmuiths book was ok but confused me

I've realised that just asking for a book is flawed simply because it could just be several posts, followed by me stating that I've got them already. Here's a list to avoid the situation.

I didn't like it back then but I've matured as a poker play so may re-read it over Xmas and see if I can make sense of it.

I've survived until the break.

Doubled up off the chip leader with pocket 8's and then everyone folded when I pushed with rockets :evil:

I'm at the final table with 10 players im 9th with 41k in chips i managed to double up just before I had A 10 against A Q and got a ten on the turn 8-)

Which Hellmuth book are you referring to Slayer?

I only have a few poker books, but my favourite one is 'The Poker Tournament Formula' by Arnold Snyder. I find most poker books assume you are playing against pro's and they teach you poker as if you are playing in the WSOP, this book is aimed more at the average online player and it teaches you how to play in fast tournaments against opponents of different skill levels.
