I've never seen the site you mention, I assume traffic is low? I'm looking to join a large network really.

Low traffic but you can get a game going but I can see why you would want to join a large network.

Been a bit meh for me recently. Not really playing online, but I started playing my new live season - and so far I'm struggling for strong results. 10th, 9th, 6th and a 'played' (which means you didnt get in the top sixteen and therefore basically don't score). I havent played for a month having been away, so Im starting the season late, so Im at a big disadvantage already. I've buggered up any hopes of qualifying on averages with that 'played', so I'm just gonna see how I run.

Ironically, the next final is in my local pub, so I really wanna get in!

I'm hoping to start up again in the Casino league again in the new year when it starts again.

The problem I have is i've changed my live game this year for the worse and can't figure out my leaks.

Beginning of this year i was making final table after final table but as a short stack so going out on the bubble a lot.

I find it harder to find leaks in a live game its not like you have data to see where your going wrong and then mid season I wouldn't last more than a few hours unless I got a good streak of cards.

I put some of it down to lack of patience and sometimes just bad luck.

I hate live playing. I never seem to run real good. I hate tournaments in general really.

Tom Dwan owned on full tilt last night. It was the second instance in history of someone sitting with a "1 million chip". I'm watching him play again now. Some sick stuff going down at $500/$1000 blinds.

I got lambasted by one player today for something I did, and I dont think it was unreasonable at all....

Hes a very tight, very 'by the guidelines' type of player, who has just got it into his head that I'm this bad player. I play a bit looser and aggressive then some, but my results show I'm no donk.....but anyway...

Third hand. 3000 stacks. 25/50 blinds. This guys first to act, and me, I'm on the button. He raises to 375 everyone folds, and I call with QJ unsuited. The flop comes down A, J, 5 and he checks, and I bet out 300. He folds saying 'well its bloody obvious you've got the Ace'. I show my hand of QJ, which is actually a race situation against his pocket tens! Am I in any way unjustified in that call, knowing full well that he likes playing his aces? My call is purely meant as a exploratory call, and not to necessarily shove him off the pot....

His own fault he raised and didn't c-bet the flop making it harder for you to call.

Guy was probably frustrated at that flop knowing that his hand is in all likelihood well behind.

I was meant to be going round to a mates and playing in an 8 person game tonight but my wife invited her mate and family so I couldn't go. I had a game at home instead and the wife won despite it being the first time she's ever played. Why do beginners always win?

Signed up to PokerStars tonight. Went okay but the small stakes are annoying to play. Love the software though.

Also been watching some WSOP, from 2005. Greg Raymer was so unlucky. Basically he won the tournament in 2004 when there were 2,576 entrants. The following year he was going well and remarkably made it to the final three tables with a field of 5,619.

In his final hand with kings, he trapped a guy into going all in on a 6 3 5 rainbow flop and the guy hit running cards to flush Raymer. When Johnny Chan repeated as champion there were only like 170 entrants. Remarkable from Raymer.

No, but they have a loyalty system that's supposed to be a decent equivalent. I think it's the same as 35% or so at the max, but you have to put in some sick volume. This will explain it better than I can.

That'd be the one. Which 'League' will you be competing in?

Its the West Yorkshire league.

The land lady said its monthly points so tonight might be a bit pointless but at least I can work out what the play is like there and what the standard of play is.

Yeah some of the leagues are monthly (not sure if I'd prefer that or not) - mine is two monthly. Better prizes at the finals, but more of a slog as well, especially if like me youve missed like half a month or something...

In my experience some pubs have absolutely brilliant standards, and some are exceptionally donk-tacular. I'm off to a donk pub tonight....should be fun! My mate Chris made a massive raise with Pocket Jacks, and got called by two players, one who had 5,2 OFF SUIT - and then made massive bets all the way down to the river where he made a straight! There was also flush possibilities out on the board. My mate couldnt stop thinking about it for about 30 hands afterwards!

Yep, maybe we can have a little one of competition between us to see who gets more points tonight? Deal?

We could make it the Slayer/DML Series?
