People must feel generous at the weekend as I've received about 4 Sword exclusives through surprise trades this afternoon. :D

OK, my two eldest sons got the Expansion gooseberry fool for this, Nintendo then emailed me to give me a set of codes for T-shirts for Eevee and Pikachu. On one set though. It means that when I pre-order mine and another of my sons his expansion we'll get no more codes, I assume it's to do with the family stuff, but that is bullshit. Nintendo really are strawberry floating gooseberry fool when it comes to this kind of thing.

Surprise trades are booming at the moment!
My son got a Sobble and a Scorbunny this morning!

Still needs a grookey though.

Have put about 10 hours into this now.

Things I like:
Galarian forms
Seeing the Pokémon roaming around in the environment
Most of the new Pokémon

Things I don't like:
Dynamax, pointless gimic
Wild Area, not really sure what that's about to be honest
The sheer number of people that will heal you, any slight challenge Pokémon ever had has gone

Why do people hate dynamax so much I don't get it?

I've enjoyed the wild area. Probably spent most of my play time grinding in it (Hence my starter and Pikachu are level 90 now with the rest of my mons nearer to level 70 and I haven't even got all gym badges :slol: )

I haven't really tried my hand at online battles apart from one early in the game were I got slaughtered by someone with crazy pokemon.

It doesn't add anything interesting to the battles and it homogenises all the Pokémon because there are so few max moves, it doesn't add anything interesting to the story, and I think it looks pretty stupid.

The Wild Area is fine but unless I'm missing something, I can't see what it really adds, it's not much different to the Routes.

It's a good aggressive option to break through shitty stall, that's deep enough to still employ strategy. Sounds interesting enough to me.

I'm pleased for you!

Other things I like: XP for catching 'mon.

Some things I'm on the fence about: automatic XP share and accessing boxes from anywhere.

I’m pretty impartial on it, don’t hate it but don’t particularly like it either, still think the best mechanic they’ve put it was mega evolutions as that certainly made some good changes to older Pokémon or just gave them a nice stat boost for the duration of the battle, in fact dynamax kind of feels like a 3 turn, slightly watered down version of mega evolutions? For what it’s worth I felt the same about Z moves, just didn’t think they added much.

I was pretty off on it when Dynamax was first revealed but during the game I didn't mind it as much. My Leon fight was head to head our last mon, both dynamaxed and it was an awesome moment to cap off the main story.

That's because the game treats it as nothing but a Route. A large and open-ended Route, but still a Route. You use it twice during the story, with the game just telling you explore and find the limited amount of things it offers for yourself. But it doesn't ever seem to encourage that exploration and there's no story relevance to it at all. However, it does mark the start of modernisation for the series, with the expansions hopefully showing such an open world concept done right.

Agreed. At the moment it just feels like a wasted opportunity, epitomising the lack of ambition that has sadly become the norm with Pokémon.

It annoys me because I still love the game and will keep buying them.

It could be so much more though. :capnscotty:

In future games, I hope they take the idea and just spawn it into a bigger map that has multiple pathways to different towns and regions. I think they had the right concept but felt really half baked. The DLC looks much more promising tho.

Masuda on Twitter was getting harrassed on Twitter from fans about the extra 200 Pokemon being DLC and responded with "It's my birthday and a holiday, can you let me relax?"

Given the sheer number of Pokémon I have come across in just 12 hours, dexit is definitely one for the things I like column.
