Gonna continue my streak of unpopular opinions and say I loved Fennekin >,> Delphox is straight up a Fire Fox Mage, are you kidding me. That's dope as heck. Also Fire Psychic was really refreshing for final starter. I will agree tho that Delphox's design wasn't the most inspired.

Also made it to Stow on Side yesterday and it's probably my favourite town/village so far. Just a shame it's so small, but I love the vibes. Route 6 really cool too, almost got a nostalgic feeling from traversing through it, especially with the music.

Delphox is poop. It does make sense how you like the gooseberry fool water-mon in Sw/Sh. Awful taste.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Pokemon should look like:
* animals
* plants
* ghosts haunting stuff

Not like:
* people
* robots
* furry fan-art

Different people have different inputs on designs. We've had 8 generations of Pokemon, so we're bound to get some weird ones. I think some folks tie onto their nostalgia a bit too much these days. Also I don't think there should be rules on what pokemon should look like because that just creatively stifles diversity.

At least we've never reached the lows of Trubbish ever again.

The Vanillish evolutionary chain is frighteningly gooseberry fool.

Vanillite and Trubbish were the same gen. in any case, and neither was as bad as sodding Klink.

Chewtle and Impidimp take the wooden spoon for me this gen.

Not sure how many folks here know about James Turner who is the lead artist for SwSh and has contributed many designs in past games. Seems like a lot of his designs have received mixed reactions. Many names mentioned here are his creations too >,>

Yeah I was watching an interview with him yesterday, on the one hand it's really cool to hear from a British guy working on pokemon, on the other hand most of his pokemon designs are rubbish. There are some great designs in Swish though, so I can only assume he didn't have too much influence!

Karl has the rules right. "It looks like a digimon" is normally short-hand criticism for a pokemon being too human.

I'm about 25 hours in and I've just arrived at Circhester. I think this is my favourite Pokemon game purely for the fact that it's so easy to level up all the Pokemon in my boxes, even if I'm not battling with them. It makes it really easy to swap in and out my main team line up without feeling like my favourites will start lagging behind in XP. It's meant I've been playing with a wider variety of 'mon and have been spending more time catching new types.

I think Orbeetle is my favourite. :wub:

I want to use that pokemon because it has a great way of setting up aurora veil, but it looks absolutely stupid.

Like it looks like the mascot of a Japanese ice cream company.

It's the cartoons face that does it, something a bit more animalistic would have made it look 10x better.
