Down to the 11 mythical Pokémon before I have a full living dex in Home, however I’ve seen that the QR code for Magearna still works in Sun/Moon and Ultra Sun/Moon? I’ve still got Bank downloaded on my 3DS so would I be able to get one or two Magearna on my respective games, transfer them to Bank (guess I’d have to buy another subscription just for one Pokémon :fp:) and then transfer them to Home despite having already done a transfer? Would a second transfer cost me?

shouldnt cost you. also you will get 3rd magearna from home when your dex is finished

Shouldn’t cost more past another bank sub I take it? Or was it Bank where you got so many days free if you don’t have an active subscription? Is it the Magearna that resembles a Poké ball you receive when you have a living dex? I best get my copies of Moon and Ultra Moon to hand then. Thanks again :)

Edit, need to have become champion to be able to scan the QR code for Magearna, looks like a quick playthrough of Moon and Ultra Moon is next up for me then

That Magearna looks great to be honest, got my bank subscription back up and running last night, starting back on with Moon this morning :toot:

In Sun/Moon and US/UM you could get a QR code reader on your Poké dex, never quite figured it out myself but I think you could search for rarer Pokémon by scanning one of the islands or a individual one for a Pokémon’s location in the game. What I’m after is a mythical Pokémon, Magearna which you can still get by scanning a QR code in the 7th gen games, only after you’ve beaten the equivalent of the elite 4 which means I need to play through Moon and Ultra Moon again as I’m not getting a bank sub again just for one Magearna, may as well go for 2 that I’ll never use

At least I’ll only have 10 left for a living dex doing this, plus a couple more Lunala, not feeling getting all the Ultra Beasts again after the main story though.

I found them frustrating to get in the Ultra games as it all came down to RNG on those wormholes, but for some reason, they felt harder to catch in the originals. I have a couple of level 100 Galades I use for catching legendary Pokemon and they were getting destroyed by the Ultra Beasts in Sun for some reason. I think they were using some status effect that prevented hypnosis from working, but they were also really resistant to false swipe.

I just found the Ultra Beasts kind of boring really, as soon as they took out a couple of your Pokémon they had the potential to just sweep through your team as well with beast boost. Being a little ocd I still made sure to catch them all in standard Poké balls though  I’m just going to stop after the elite 4 in Moon and do the Rainbow Rocket episode in Ultra Moon as I don’t believe you can get any mythical Pokémon from the wormholes in the Ultra games can you?

Nope, just the Legends and an increased chance of shinies.

Have you got a Celebi? You can transfer from Pokemon Crystal on the 3DS Virtual Console, although going back to those old games is pretty rough. EXP share really makes it easier! There's not really wild pokemon much higher than mid 30s in the wild, but the Elite 4 are mid to late 40s in level.

Yeah I’ve got a couple of Celebi, one from Crystal and I can’t remember where the other one came from, some distribution I think. I’m missing the mythicals from Jirachi to Marshadow, although I have got a Manaphy. The first 2 gens are rough to go back to in some ways, but I still love playing them, partly for the nostalgia and I think gen 2 holds up for the most part as long as you don’t mind refacing the elite 4 as the only real way to grind out levels late game.In fact I might grab myself another Celebi too once I’ve got my Moon/Ultra Moon runs out the way while my Bank sub is active again :shifty:

Surprised I’ve got time to play much else recently with how much Pokémon I’m playing

£10 is a steal for this, would mean it’s not even £30 in total if you want the DLC too.

Transferring the compatible pokemon from Home is a bit of a pain to say the least. Had everything sorted in National Dex order, and was hoping I could just transfer whole boxes at a time and it would not transfer the incompatible ones. Nope, can't have an incompatible one in the selection at all. At least going back should be easier as I've put them all in the same spots they should be, with gaps for the ones that can't be transferred.

I can’t remember how the process works to be honest, got about 1/2 a box from my quick runs of Moon and Ultra Moon so I can grab a couple of Megearna. Started another run of Crystal so I can grab a third Celebi (not that I can trade either of the spares for any of the other mythical Pokémon though). Would I need to top it up to a full box or can just not have any gaps in your selection of Pokémon to transfer?

Just transferring the odd stuff like that from Bank to Home is fine, you won't need to fill up a box.

I had everything in order in Bank and then Home though, so box 1 was 1-30, box 2 was 31-60 etc. You can't just transfer the whole of box 1 or 2 into Sword as maybe 5-6 in each box are Pokemon that are not included in Gen 8. So I had to select 1-12, transfer them in, 14-20 and transfer them in, 22-24 and transfer them in, 26-30 and transfer them in etc.

Ah that’s ok, not planning on adding enough to get to a full box.

Would anyone be able to help me transfer some of the fossils between Sword and Shield? I used to use the GTS between myself for stuff like this, but now it's part of Home and items get pulled off a Pokemon when transferring into Home. So looking for someone to take my 2 Pokemon holding the fossils from one game, then trade them back to me in the other game. I can give you two fossils on the ones you take back if people need any of them at this point. I know I'm quite late to the party  Or I can give you anything that's breedable in Gen 8.

Are you just looking for someone to do some trades with within Pokemon Sword or Shield? If so I could do this today, are you free now?
