I think most are better, but, some I prefer the Switch Version. Like the cobble floor in the first town. And while nicer in detail I do prefer the style of the cliff face of the, err, cliffs.

I finished the game and postgame. I can’t remember whether I said as much in here.

It’s got some really good new monster designs, which is the main thing. The characters are mostly decent too, and it’s nice to see Pokémon in the overworld. I just think it felt a bit unfinished.

It’s good, but I can’t wait for the next one when I think they’ll nail some of the iffy elements.

I do like Marnie. I also grew to like Bede, and I think I’d like Piers if he’d been given a bit more time or story. Sonia’s pretty okay too.

In fact it’s only the Hop brothers I don’t care for really.

I really like Sonia too. She has the Big Ph.D. Student Energy.

I'm okay with the (ex-)Champ, he's fine, a very "Pokemon" character, but I was surprised at how much Hop comes across as a bit of a dickhead to be honest.

Hop was too much like Hau from Sun/Moon for my liking, although it was funny repeatedly stomping him in every battle and him still acting like he could win :simper: I much preferred Marnie as a rival and she was interesting as a character, plus Team Yell were dumb and great in general. I definitely prefer the friendly rivals to the earlier pokemon dickish rivals.

Leon is a fun champion and the Leon spin pose is an excellent addition. I would also definitely date Sonia.

Ball Guy is my best friend

Hop and Hau, and before them the Gang of Four in XY, have really put me off any and all friendly rivals. Marnie might be the start of a comeback for them.

The spin pose is bad and dumb.

Evolving milcery is great, and seeing wild pokemon react to spinning is always fun

Clarification: the spin pose is bad and dumb when Leon does it. Watching the player character do it (especially mine, dressed up like a massive nerd) is kind of charming.

I will say that while I hate Hop himself I liked his little arch.he was overly confident and then after.gwtting destroyed lost faith in himself completely, he slowly builds his confidence back up, but still believes he's not good at the whole Pokémon thing and realises that he doesn't need to be like Leon and decides to find his own path.

I actually like Hop, to be honest. Not best rival personally (I think Silver - well, the rival in G/S - is my favourite) but he has pretty decent character development. Worst rivals for me are ones in X/Y.

Marnie, Opal and Sonia I think are my favourites in these games.

Opal is tremendous. Apart from anything else, I like that for once she says that the protagonist can’t do something.

The Marnie thirst is real. Her fandom is quite something >,>. We need more Bea love out here. Seems like these characters have nice development tho which is good to hear.
