Ah I knew there was a forgery and authentic version of Sinistea and Polteageist but didn’t know a different item evolved it.

Yeah, that's what I have - with the little blue dot on the bottom. Had to swap it out for a Dragapult in the end because I just couldn't evolve it.

Surprise Traders are sometimes real generous. I got a Gurdurr through one, which instantly evolved in Conkeldurr allowing me to register two 'mon at once. I've also got a few Sword exclusives through Surprise Trades as well. Half the time, though, it seems people are dumping their reject hatches through it. Which is exactly what I was doing with the Sobble as this hunt for the shiny continues. Oh, I took a bit of time away to help Pedz on some Max Raids, but I'm up to 150+ hatched.

The plus is there because I misplaced a few Sobble and couldn't count them, but I've done four boxes of Surprise Trading, with a fifth ready to go.

Anyone fancy a couple of battles tonight?

I made a full Ghost team and it's not too bad. I just need a Mimicu (sp) so I don't get steamrolled by dark types.

Is it considered ethnic cleansing to breed the foreign out of any Pokemon I get via Surprise Trade?

I kept my foreign Ditto, because I’ve heard they’re useful for Shiny breeding. But Surprise Trade has been a godsend today. Got around 6 Pokemon I needed (finally Grookey), several with multiple evolutions. Once I evolve them I think I’ll be at around 360. Most of what I need now are dependent on weather, max raids or version exclusives (never going to get Zacian in my dex ).

The last time I was this hooked and legitimately trying to fill my dex was in the GBA days.

I tend to breed them just so I can have them under my name as the trainer. I don't get rid of trades though. Need the lotto numbers.

Surprise Trade is great isn't it? Tried it for the first time last night and the first four 'mon I received, in order, were Dreepy, Skwovet, Pichu and Corsola (the latter of which was particularly welcome given I'm a Sword player!) All but the Skwovet were at Lv1.

I managed to get shiny Rhyhorn from wild when I was hunting for Skorpis (spelling), I've put that on hold and bred my Dubwool with foreign Ditto and on 116th egg I managed to get shiny Wooloo

I'm trying for shiny Ponyta-Galar now, over 160 eggs and no luck so far (although that's to be expected really)

Also if anyone wants 4IV Ponyta-Galar (or even 5IV) let me know before I surprise trade them, right now I'm releasing 3IV or lower when keeping 4IVs. 5IVs I won't surprise trade, so no rush if you need 5IV one.

I'm probably not far enough through the game yet to get them all, but I've got a few Sword exclusives so far (f definitely a Farfetch'd for example) - I'd be happy to trade them over for you.

I didn't expect it either! I was worried that my Pokémon would've knocked it out in one hit and I like Poke Ball's design better than Ultra so I went for it!

25, although if you're on about GMax Snorlax it might been lower

You only get one chance with Raid battles, so I would assume it's the normal one that likes to jump out at you as soon as you get over the bridge.

A weird thing happened yesterday where I had two critical captures in a row, then another two followed after just one regular attempt. I was absolutely surprised at that, and think it might have been a sign that a shiny is waiting at the nursery.

I use regular pokeballs for everything. Unless you catch pokemon in regular pokeballs, they basically don't count. No one wants a team made up with mismatched balls

The level difference between your battling mon and the wild mon seems to have a huge impact in this game on the capture chance, even at very slim level differences. I ended up always switching to my strongest mon after weakening the opponent before trying to catch.

Level 95 vs level 60 is probably pretty great odds
