I’ll be playing this after I’ve got through the DLC for The Witcher 3, poured around 85 hours into my current game so far so it feels right to finish that off before getting back into Pokémon again.

I am downloading the updates to both Shield and Sword, as well as updating Home as I type though  What are the chances that at some point the dlc will be on sale? Obviously I’ve only bought it for Shield but if the dlc ever went on sale I wouldn’t be against buying it for Sword if I enjoy the Crown Tundra part as well (which is probably a given as I think it looks really good from what we’ve seen, granted more of the same but it looks great to explore!). Plus having dlc for both would help my living dex come on more when it comes to the legendary Pokémon, which I’m sure I read you can only catch one of in each game so won’t be able to catch multiple to trade for the opposite versions :(

Caught first legendary in this, Suicine. Is it me or do they not have Pokedex entries even in the Tundra dex? Dont understand how the three Pokedex are split tbh :slol: DLC seems cool not long in!

Is this actually supposed to be Scotland? Seen said few times.

Accurate, we would have deep fried something by now right enough.

New area map seems big at least

Started the DLC packs tonight, got through Isle of Armour and made a start on Crown Tundra which I am liking so far.

Forget how bad the 'map'is in Pokemon, especially when all terrain looks the same.

Legendary stories in new DLC are cool so far.

These Legendary hunts with the Crown Tundra are quite fun. Managed to catch Regirock in a regular Pokéball, so decided to do the same with the other three. Took a while and multiple resets with Registeel and Regice, but the fourth was easier to handle. Bird hunting was also fun, but what I like most of all is the world. There's a lot of verticality with it, the caves have multiple routes meaning you can easily get lost in them, and everything is a lot more naturally built.

I was talking about such at the start of my stream yesterday, where I have a feeling Game Freak wanted to do things like this with generation eight to begin with, but the generation started too early. Had they been able to take two years longer in development, Galar could have been very different from what we got. But with the time they had, it was all they could do. Which is where the expansions come into it. They wanted to continue to experiment with various map design with an unlocked camera (I'm assuming in the early stages they wanted the entire of Galar to have an unlocked camera, hence the minimap the leaks have shown were in the beta), so created two new areas where they could show off what they could have done with more time. When we get to generation nine, things will probably be a lot better in that regard.

In fact, and it's probably sacrilege to suggest, I wouldn't be surprised if the remake we see next year isn't Diamond and Pearl, but Gold and Silver. A Johto that has seen a major upgrade to not only take advantage of the new generation of modelling and texturing to bring new life and variety to each of the towns and cities within the game, but also to expand them (not massively) and show off how an unlocked camera could work throughout an entire region. Such does mean bringing back Kanto as well (again, ugh), but depending on how expanded and enhanced they are, it could make Kanto feel like an entirely new region (okay, overexaggeration, but you get my point).

From what I’m seeing/reading about the Crown it sounds like it should be very good when I get around to it.

Any tips catching the Legendary birds? I have used my 2 Master Balls now and even getting them down into the red is no help (trying to catch with Ultra Balls)

Always start the battle with a Quick Ball. I caught Moltres by doing that. For the other two I used a gooseberry fool load of Ultra Balls, and many many soft resets until I caught them. Cobalion is the most annoying lengendary to catch as the hail ends up knocking it out.

try false swipe a move that will leave a pokemon with 1 hp and will not KO it

I gave up on the Crown Tundra after realising it was basically all catching legendary Pokémon - the worst aspect of the series. :dread:

I like the exploring part of it, it’s a nice sizeable area! I need to go back and explore the Isle of Armour as well though as I never noticed some of the areas out in the sea (also, the old master seems to be referring to something else I need to do? I left Isle of Armour once I did one of the towers with Kubfu.....what is left to do?)

Oh really? At the moment he is just sitting in the living room of the dojo saying that I need to do something else but it doesn’t say what?

Via dynamax adventure can you actually get every legendary in one game then? Or is there still version exclusive Pokémon? Really starting to dislike the exclusive Pokémon now I’ve started trying to get a living dex together (not that I’ll probably ever get there mind), don’t know why the cover legendary can’t be the only exclusive these days :fp:
