sword does seem to be the more popular of the two, at least there’ll be plenty to trade with for us shield guys

Galarian Ponyta is pure psychic (boooo!) and a Shield exclusive. Bit of a shame it’s not some combination of fairy, ghost and psychic but oh well.

Hurray! Coupled with getting a ghost gym I'm getting happier about getting Shield

Wait do you only get a ghost gym if you get Shield???

I want Sword for the cooler legendary but this could swing it to Shield for me

"Bea, the Fighting-type Gym Leader, is exclusive to Sword while the Ghost-type master, Allister, can only be battled in Shield."

Probably doesn't need spoilering but just in case (Balla)

Personally the legendary design doesn't matter to me much apart from for the boxart, considering I'll be pretty much finishing with the game when I catch them and I don't like having a legendary in my team anyway. I'm not a big fan of either of them really.

Sirfetch'd is great though so that's a big plus for Sword

I also finish the game after doing the elite 4 and grabbing the legendaries. Tbh, I just don't see the point in 2 versions anymore.

I very rarely use the any of the legendary Pokémon, normally only on subsequent runs.

Depends how early you can get Ponyta, reckon there’ll be plenty of people wanting to trade Ponyta for Sirfetch’d though.

Considering where the location we saw it is on the full region map (north-west), I think Galarian Ponyta will be two-thirds into the adventure. Sirfetch'd is a bit more difficult to place, but I'd say it would fit into the same slot.

I'm not saying they'll be at the exact same place, but if we consider the new info that Galarian Ponyta is in the mushroom forest on the north-west of the map, it stands to reason that will be the location of the Psychic Gym. Just south of that area is the location of the Fighting Gym for Sword. To the east is the castle. Between these two areas (and I guess just east of the castle as well) is where I expect Farfetch'd/Sirfetch'd to be.

With the news that Galarian Ponyta is Shield exclusive my team is looking 50% full unless I do a lot of switching mid game (something which I normally steer clear of, I like getting a team of 6 and sticking with them throughout) with Grookey, Corviknight and Galarian Ponyta. They must have a fair few more to show off as well (hopefully anyway).

I think it's funny how they seem to push for double battles to be the standard when 90% of single player is single battles.

Wouldn't mind getting the starter evo's revealed tomorrow. Let's face it, those are more or less gonna be shown off or spoiled literally hours into release, or even before for that matter. I think it's better for them to get ahead of everyone and at least tease them.

While I’d be slightly disappointed I do expect to see the second stage starter evolutions before launch, even if you try and steer clear of them chances are you’ll glance a picture or video about them somewhere in the next 4 weeks.
