Well predicting they would be revealed today is clearly on the money. They were just detailing what we’d see in the Direct. They must have seen the video early somehow because they got everything spot on.

Oh yeah, they was clearly legit. Just I thought it was a given the two legendaries were wolves.

I quite like how they fit the shield design into the wolf's main, but it was a bit disappointing the the other is literally just holding a sword.

Ergo, Shield it shall be.

I really liked the new Pokémon designs too. Has the British guy been onboard for a while? Never seen him before but if he's been responsible for the new lot I approve. I especially liked the crow/raven one and Drednaw. They are going in the team.

Can't believe we'll have to kill Zacian to fight the Elite Four Kings. :(

Oh, you saying that has just made me realise the anime is going to be totally running with the idea of huge 'mons running around. I wonder if we'll be seeing one of those new 'mon in the Alola League? I want to see Corviknight in the anime style.

Have they done away with random battles?

Not completely.

There’s a Wild Area location which has visible Pokemon roaming around like Lets Go. Wild Area seems to be like a Hyrule Field kinda situation in that it is one big central location connecting other important places.

However, it seems other areas, such as the Routes, will still have random encounters.

Random battles are still a thing. Except in the Wild Area, which is pretty much a small-scale open-world online experience [should you choose to use it as such, I imagine], where the 'mon roam free.

Also, can I just say I've had the trailer on repeat just for the song? It really does capture a sense of energy that I hope feeds into the actual battle music [which I think does actually feature near the beginning of it].

Thanks. Guess they're trying to cater to everyone.

If I could be bothered to go find the "Orson Welles clapping" GIF, I'd be posting it right now.

Oh, imagine if after the league, instead of returning to Kanto, Ash goes straight to Galar after meeting Leon, who had decided to visit Alola upon hearing about the region starting their own league. Leon sees that Ash has a Rotom-dex, so gives Ash a Rotom-phone that his Rotom migrates to. Unfortunately, there'll probably be about ten episodes once the league finishes [I don't see the league being more than eight episodes] where something needs to happen, and I really doubt Rainbow Rocket is happening. I expect the Team Skull stuff to be wrapped up with the league itself, with maybe one other episode after, so all I'm really left with is some sort of end-of-school parade and goodbyes, which can probably be done in one or two episodes anyway.

That looks really, really good. Not really sold on either of the legendary Pokémon so I’ll probably stick with Shield as thats what I was leaning towards beforehand. Only thing I’m surprised we didn’t see are the starters second stage evolutions but I guess with E3 round the corner they probably want to leave a couple of bits to show off there in the treehouse.

Sword wolf is basically Sif so I'll be getting that one.

Really don't like the shield on the Wolf. Looks really bad. Was going to get Shield too. Sword it is. Much rather have PokeSif than PokeShit.

Sword has the least bad legendary, so that's the version I'm leaning towards.

Although, if it turns out to have better region exclusive 'mon then I might begrudgingly swing the other way.

Shield > Sword. A good shield user can deflect any weapons attack if they're good enough so shield all the way.
