Dunsparce's origin is the best part about it, but hecking Yo-Kai Watch managed to design a more appealing tsuchinoko.

Honestly I could probably draw most of the monsters too, but I really do think there are too many, including several forgettable ones, and that the series needs a cull.

Anyway I'm sure it will only be temporary, un/fortunately (take your pick).

Ha, well, I was half (well, maybe one-quarter) winding you up. I understand why you don't like Dunsparce. :P

I don't disagree.

I kind of want someone to run a Pokemon Eliminator now.

How many of you could actually draw Dunsparce from memory? Given that permanent streamlining's not going to happen, streamlining on a game-by-game basis is the next best thing.

I like Dunsparce and absolutely can draw it from memory. Here it is.

Where do you begin to cull them though? Potentially every Pokémon could be a kid's favourite, somewhere.

If balancing is an issue, improve past ones to make them more viable options. It can't be a design issue as they keep coming up with new ones every few years and to be honest, the design quality has remained more or less the same (despite what your nostalgia might be telling you). The new monsters often have quite interesting and unique typing and abilities too.

Like I said, I have a feeling it might be to stop you stomping raids with your overpowered legendaries from Diamond and Pearl.

And to encourage you to actually do the raids. Let's face it, if you've played even only a handful of titles, you could have all the legendaries already (you can get all bar the event legendaries with just one of ORAS and one of USUM for example). If there's a Ho-oh raid going on, I'm probably not going to be that fussed as I have about four or five of them now. Even the Event ones have been given away over wi-fi a couple of times.

Like I said, if they want to encourage using the new Pokemon, they should limit it to just a new bunch of 150 like in Black and White. If they want us to be excited about catching all the ones we've caught before, then they should add something new to those old monsters.

Any kid whose favourite Pokémon is Barboach deserves everything they get.

What about this way? We know that 'mon in the raid battles will appear in the Wild Area after you battle them? What if the Galar-dex only restriction is just to start with, with more new 'mon being added to the raids every week? That way it encourages people to battle in the raids, but if they miss a week, the next week a different set roles in and those that were previously there will now be available to transfer from Home.

so the rumour about the electric corgi said it was called pamper, which sounds like an evolution, and even then electric corgi is a very specific thing to have pulled out of the air

just saying there maybe a little fire to this particular smoke

Where has it been said that not all Pokemon will be in the game?

In the treehouse section from yesterday, said that any Pokémon not in the Galar regional dex won’t be able to be transferred from Pokémon Home.

That's something they've done since at least X&Y, waiting a few months before adding backwards compatability through Bank etc, to allow the competitive scene balance to work itself out with a smaller selection.

I'm sure early next year they'll add the ability to import from previous games.

It is a weird choice, no doubt. Introduce the poke bank, the first actually useful and reasonably easy to use solution to the decade long problems of completing a national dex across multi generations in XY, then abandon the Nat Dex in USUM, then outright prevent the transfer of half the dex in ShSw?

Classic Nintendo.

What percentage of people who play pokemon actually transfer pokemon between games? It seems like a weirdly big deal is being made out of something kind of small, the main game only having so many pokemon in it is just... normal for pokemon games.

well the finally reached the point where continually adding every pokemon in all their forms is just too much for them, its a shame but it makes sense

I didn’t until Pokemon Bank made it simple as strawberry float. Even needing the Transporter for Soul Silver, it was still a matter of minutes to have everything in one place across the last 4 gens.

It’s really nice actually, because there’s still something special about the ‘mon you completed each game with that isn’t matched by recatching the same mon in a later gen. Like, my XY Greninja and Flareon have got strawberry floatin’ stories man. Recatching another one in USUM wouldn’t be the same.

You can still keep em all in the Bank/Home whatever can't you?

This is you can't transfer everything TO SwSh - but your master collection can still grow

Oh yeah I totally get the appeal of it, don't get me wrong. But even then, you're not likely to do it until endgame anyway right?

Yea, I’d be interested to see how Pokemon home works, because at the moment Bank is great for storage but not great for looking at/organising/interacting with your collection, which is why I prefer to keep them in a game. If Home is all that and a bag of chips I won’t mind not having them all in SwSh.
