Oof. Destroyed their lives? Did an employee from Game Freak personally give them a visit and take away every single asset they had except for their Switch and the game, along with setting them up with a criminal record to their name leaving them with no prospect of any future?

Talk about overeaction.

Not being able to catch another 600 Pokémon in the base game must have ruined his life, his families life as well, I bet he can’t even sleep at night fretting over the lack of Pokémon in Sword and Shield.

The 200 extra Pokemon aren't even in the DLC, they're in the patch, so you will be able to transfer them over through Pokemon Home without needing to buy the DLC. Given that no Pokemon game has ever included every single Pokemon and required you to transfer them over from previous games the issue has been blown massively out of proportion. Also, the ones getting angry about the DLC are probably the same people that would have bought a revised version of the game that included a few new buildings, Pokemon in different areas, and a slightly adjusted story.

Oh of course it has, I’m actually really happy with a regional dex of 400, actually might mean I stand a half decent chance of getting a living dex once I get my act together and get a copy of Sword. My dex is currently sat on 305, just going round catching the recommendations at the moment alongside trying to do max raids (and failing as they all seem to be 5 star ones at the moment). Have they said if the 200 they’re adding via the update will all be catchable in the two expansions? Or will the majority be in those with some needing to be transferred in from previous games?

I'm pretty sure they said they would be catchable on the two new islands.

That’s good, hopefully without version exclusives.

Oh :(

That would mean if one person wanted to have a complete regional dex on their own (using solely Sword and Shield) they'd need to spend approximately £145 in the process :dread:

What's the deal with camps? Can I just ignore them or do they drastically speed up how much a Pokémon likes you?

The latter one. Invaluable for making a certain late-game monster actually useful.

Ugh, was hoping it was just a novelty.

Chalk camps up as another thing I dislike

Alternatively you could just give the monster a Soothe Bell and a bunch of items.

I thought it was a cute functionality.

Camps are cute but I wish you could skip the cooking minigame

If you’re on about Type: Null then I had mine evolved without any items by level 55 just by having it in my party and using it a few times.

Think I might be done for a bit now. Exactly 60hrs in and 316 Pokémon caught. I'm sure I'll drop back in now and again to complete raid battles and evolve some of the exclusives I've received through trades but I feel very satisfied now. Might be time to get into Breath of the Wild finally.

Snom's movement speed in a camp is a crime against nature
