The Pewdiepie links come from one of the shooters making a post on 8ch*n before the shooting citing Pewdiepie as one of his inspirations.
It also appears that, as he was live streaming the shooting, he encouraged viewers to subscribe immediately before it began.

PDP is casually racist, he is casually anti-semitic. He links to racist, sexist, & anti-semitic YT videos. His Twitter follows are dominated by alt-right and alt-right adjacent figures like Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro, and Stefan Molyneux, who push nativist rhetoric exactly like that which this shooter cites as his justification.

Blaming PewDiePie for this is like blaming Rammstein for Columbine (or whichever mass shooting they were named in). People take their own opinions and views off media, and someone who is quite clearly mental and able to commit this level of atrocity should take responsibility for it. What benefit do we get from passing the blame to someone who wasn't involved? I highly doubt he's particularly happy to have his name involved in something like this, regardless of his own personal views.

There's a longer post to be made here, but some of the analogies on this page are, frankly, ignorant.

Pew Die Pie has not been directly implicated in this of course but his rhetoric, his failure to show contrition for his racist actions and his continuing to court the audience he has is 100% a contributing factor to the radicalisation of a certain subset of young, white men on the internet, one of whom has just murdered 49 innocent people.
