But there are some things that you should just know about as a sensible and reasonably informed adult, and beyond that MP's should be getting a thorough run down of their brief when they take on a role that fills in any gaps in what they know.
I can accept the average person in England not knowing about the Catholic/Protestant/Unionist/Republican split in Northern Ireland. I find it amazing that it could all pass somebody by, but people have busy lives.
What I don’t accept is a British politician not knowing any of that. You decide to become a politician, you get elected as an MP and you have no idea that a Nationalist wouldn’t vote for a Unionist party? Seriously???
But she looks pretty competent when stacked up against Grayling’s failures and Raab’s “I didn’t realise the importance of the Dover to Calais crossing”.
