He has a Twitter defence force spouting strawberry floating lies. I ended up blocking a few of them. Cancerous strawberry floats.

She has no idea what she is doing and has never had any idea.

In September 2018 she was criticised for admitting in an interview for House magazine, a weekly publication for the Houses of Parliament, that she had not understood Northern Irish politics before being appointed Secretary of State for Northern Ireland. “I didn’t understand things like when elections are fought, for example, in Northern Ireland – people who are nationalists don’t vote for unionist parties and vice versa,” she said.

She's an idiot.

I can appreciate that no MP is going to be an expert on all areas that relate to Government and that being asked to lead a department may involve taking on something that you are not initially equipped for.

But there are some things that you should just know about as a sensible and reasonably informed adult, and beyond that MP's should be getting a thorough run down of their brief when they take on a role that fills in any gaps in what they know. :fp:

Complete incompetence on her part and complete incompetence in appointing her to that position. Absolute joke

I can accept the average person in England not knowing about the Catholic/Protestant/Unionist/Republican split in Northern Ireland. I find it amazing that it could all pass somebody by, but people have busy lives.

What I don’t accept is a British politician not knowing any of that. You decide to become a politician, you get elected as an MP and you have no idea that a Nationalist wouldn’t vote for a Unionist party? Seriously???

But she looks pretty competent when stacked up against Grayling’s failures and Raab’s “I didn’t realise the importance of the Dover to Calais crossing”. :fp:

She didn't know the problem with Brexit and the Irish border either, only understood it after getting the job.

I'll freely admit to not knowing the political spectrum in Ireland and NI, but it's not my job to know that stuff so I don't feel bad about it.

But even with that limited knowledge, I bet you would know that a Republican wouldn't vote for a Unionist party?

Children, CHILDREN were shot dead by the British Army, she has to resign, it's an absolute disgrace.

Nationalists in NI already have no representation in the UK Parliament and all this will do is stoke up hatred.

What actually is the status of the criminal investigation into Bloody Sunday? How long has it been since the Saville Inquiry was published, must be getting on for 10 years?

Has to resign. Have you seen the absolute strawberry floating state of the government in the UK at the moment? She’s the most competent person we have and she’s a strawberry floating idiot.

Ah thanks, very interested to see what comes out of that. But yeah he's right, this statement would be terrible at any point in time but she really couldn't have picked a worse moment. :fp:

It's truly frightening the levels of incompetence, negligence and bare faced lying that people in government seem to be allowed to get away with right now.

I'm guessing anyone who is competent in the Tories has their head down as they don't want to be caught up in the gooseberry fool show that is Brexit. Although they do seem to be risking the entire Tory party at the moment.

Amusement under late capitalism is the prolongation of work.
