Careful, Farage may be like a Gremlin in which case water would just make him multiply!

Telegraph wrote:Shoppers should pay a transaction charge of 1p when they use a self-checkout machine to heal the generational divide caused by Brexit, a group of MPs has said.

The parliamentary panel on social integration, chaired by Chuka Umunna, who defected from the Labour Party in February to found Change UK, made the proposal in a report released last week.

The charge would be "to counteract potential damage caused by a lack of everyday contact between people" and could raise £30m to be spent on projects that promote social inclusion.

Tom Ironside of the British Retail Consortium, the trade body for supermarkets, dismissed the proposal. "A new tax, particularly one that penalises modern shopping behaviour, will harm both consumers and retailers at a time when retailers are rightly focused on delivering the best value for shoppers," he said.

Mr Umunna said: "We all know that Brexit has been incredibly divisive but what we have seen over the course of this inquiry suggests that generational division extends far beyond the realm of politics into our daily lives."

Antony Hawkins of The Challenge, a social integration charity, said: "Our society is divided along many fault lines so it is great to see this group delve deep into the reasons for divisions between the ages and offer suggestions on how we bridge that gap."

The group's report also proposed a tax break for people who commit to a minimum number of hours of volunteering each week.

An example of too much government. Not that it matters, BECAUSE THEY'RE NEVER GETTING IN.

Surely any transaction charge should be paid by the supermarkets given we're essentially making them able to cut their overheads.

No-one thought the DUP would get 'in', only to radically shift policy when they entered a coalition. You cannot make those assumptions anymore.

The same can be said about the Lib Dems.

Just seen a pic of the guy who did the milkshaking.

Neckbeard? Check.
Gaming T Shirt? Check.
Smug self-righteousness? Check.

Definitely a former ONM'er if you ask me, all he needed was a fedora. 8-)

Personally i just thought it was a waste of good milkshake, but to each their own. :toot:

What does it matter what he looks like? Such a Trumpesque bullying tactic. You should be ashamed.

Id personally rather have a neckbeard than be a racist raising hate crime by astonishing figures. Its incredible hes only had a milkshake! His actions have caused other people to be killed. He deserves no pity. Its nothing new for politicians to be egged. No-one was saying Prescott was a 'waste of an egg' whatever way you voted. I wonder why leavers are so incredible sensitive...or snowflakey?

Leading on Sky News at 10 tonight:

MP Jess Phillips clashes with protester over Birmingham school's LGBT lessons

An MP and a protester have clashed in the street over a Birmingham primary school that teaches LGBT issues to children.

Some parents stopped their children going from the Muslim-majority Anderton Park school today in protest, with claims that 600 stayed home. The school said the number was closer to 240 pupils.

Protesters say the lessons are intolerant of Islamic beliefs and are "indoctrinating" children by teaching them about same-sex relationships and gender identity.

The school has said the protesters are spreading "lies and misinformation" and that most are not parents.

MP Jess Phillips told a man outside the school: "You are harming the Muslim community... you are whipping up hatred of the Muslim community."

I wonder what the results would have been if they asked it accurately and the target is "a racist shitbag"

I think the poll is right. We should stop with the milkshakes and go back to throwing eggs at politicians. And for people like Farage they should be hard boiled. :toot:
