Looks like my Dad’s handwriting.

Though I’ve noticed many who grew up in the 50s, 60s and 70s share the same style.

OT maybe but this Tommy Robinson dude’s real name as we all know is Stephen Yaxley Lennon. Now, having the surname Lennon myself, it’s an Irish surname, purely Irish. How does he explain that away?

Trump Leak Scandal Engulfs Brexit Party

Police close in on ‘Eurosceptic’ in Whitehall

The chairman of Nigel Farage’s Brexit Party was last night embroiled in the “Trump files” leak scandal as it emerged that he is in a relationship with the writer whose story brought down Britain’s ambassador to Washington.

Richard Tice, a Brexit Party MEP, is dating Isabel Oakeshott, who last week published leaked diplomatic cables in which Sir Kim Darroch branded Donald Trump “clumsy and inept”, forcing Darroch’s resignation when the president announced he would not work with him.

The revelation came as senior security sources said a suspect has been identified for the leaks - amid “panic” in Whitehall that a “pro-Brexit Kim Philby” figure has been at work trying to undermine officials not deemed supportive enough of leaving the EU.

(Twitter imbedding as of writing isn’t working)

Isabel Oakeshott and the Mail on Sunday have published yet more leaks tomorrow, this time on Iran. Corbyn has also come out in support of a police investigation to find the treacherous bastard(s) who leaked it.

He doesn’t explain it, it doesn’t matter if what you say is hypocritical as long as you keep saying it over and over and never acknowledge any criticism.

He only hates non-white immigrants so I’d imagine he doesn’t care.

The Labour high command is to be sued by former employees who broke cover last week to criticise the party’s handling of cases of alleged antisemitism in a dramatic escalation of the row engulfing Jeremy Corbyn’s party.

Two of the whistleblowers who featured in last week’s explosive BBC Panorama programme entitled Is Labour Anti-Semitic? – Sam Matthews and Louise Withers Green – contacted the Observer last night to say they had instructed the prominent media lawyer Mark Lewis to act on their behalf because they believed the party had defamed them in its response to their claims. Others who spoke to Panorama are also understood to be considering contacting Lewis to represent them in libel actions.

On the evening the programme was aired, a Labour spokesman said: “It appears these disaffected former officials include those who have always opposed Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership, worked to actively to undermine it and have both personal and political axes to grind. This throws into doubt their credibility as sources.”

Lewis, who works for Patron Law, and is well known for his role in pursuing phone-hacking cases and for representing the family of murdered teenager Millie Dowler, said: “It is incredible that after the programme Labour wilfully attacked the whistleblowers, falsely accusing them of making deliberate, malicious representations, and misleading the public, while also calling them disaffected former officials whose credibility as sources was in doubt.”

He added: “These are very serious libels. Those representing the Labour party have acted in a way that set out to destroy the reputations of the whistleblowers. In their effort to destroy these people they have left it for the courts to decide who is telling the truth. It is ironic that the bosses at the workers’ party have decided to go against the worke

Probably the same way he tried to explain how his attempts to claim asylum in America didn't make him a massive filthy hypercrite: he didn't.

Press Gazette wrote:The Sun and Mirror launch paid work placements for British Muslim graduates

The Sun and Mirror newspapers have each launched a paid work placement for post-graduate students who are actively engaged in British Muslim communities.

It follows the creation of the Widening Media Diversity Scholarship at City University in London, with two charities covering tuition fees (up to £10,200) for two students to complete a master’s degree in journalism.

One of the scholars will then be offered a minimum of three months work at The Sun, Britain’s best-selling newspaper, and the other will take up a six-month placement with rival tabloid The Mirror.

The City scholarships have been ear-marked for “exceptional students facing financial hardship” who are actively engaged in British Muslim communities and interested in the under-representation of Muslims in the media as well as more broadly in developing diversity in journalism.

The university said the scholarship’s aim was to “help develop a pool of Muslim journalists who can advance diversity in the media industry, improve reporting on religion and minorities in the media and champion under-represented communities”.

The successful scholars will be assigned mentors by their donors, the Randeree Charitable Trust and the Cosaraf Charitable Foundation, who will provide them with career advice and support.

Head of journalism at City, professor Suzanne Franks ,said: “We are committed to making entry to our MA courses as diverse as possible so that the profession in turn can reflect the widest possible range of voices.”

Sun managing editor Paul Clarkson said: “We now recognise a real need to ensure good jobs in journalism are available to all, no matter their background.

“We hope this scheme will be the start of a real drive across all media outlets to ensure that their newsrooms are as diverse as our brilliant modern country.”

Research published last week by the Muslim Council of Britain’s media monitoring arm found that more than half of UK news articles about Muslims show negative bias towards them.

I think there's a bit of a diversity drive going on at The Sun, they also hired Alex Scott as a regular columnist (Monday's, I believe).

The number of drug-related deaths in Scotland soared to 1,187 last year, according to official statistics.

The figure is 27% higher than the previous year, and the highest since records began in 1996.
It means there were more drug-related deaths in Scotland last year than the 1,136 alcohol-specific deaths.

And the country's drug death rate is now nearly three times that of the UK as a whole, and is higher than that reported for any other EU country.

The latest figures also mean Scotland has a higher drug death rate than the one reported for the US, which was previously thought to be the highest rate in the world.

There were more than 70,000 drug deaths in the US in 2017 but the rate of 217 per million of the population is now lower than Scotland's rate (218).
There were 3,756 deaths relating to drug poisoning in England and Wales in 2017, a rate of 66 deaths per million.

However, countries differ in how deaths are recorded, and there may be under-reporting in some cases.

The statistics published by National Records of Scotland show that nearly three quarters - 72% - of those who died last year were male.

The vast majority of drug-related deaths - 1,021 - involved heroin, but a large percentage - 792 - had also taken pills such as diazepam and etizolam.
