With respect, that's a bollocks argument. English hasn't existed for "thousands of years" for one thing. And for another, we change lots of words that are offensive. That's why (I hope) we don't use the N word anymore.

"Common sense" is also woolly and generally a bollocks way to argue. What you think is common sense, probably isn't what other people think is common sense.

If you want to make a serious argument, you'll have to do better than "we've always said it" and "it's just common sense"

Yes it is. This thread represents basically a debate space for issues that affect everyone in society, so it comes with a certain degree of reasonable expectations.

You are invited to engage in a discussion, and you choose not to bother. But then it is no longer a discussion, it's a blog that you post on for some reason. We've had that problem before, after 5 years it ended with achieving nothing whatsoever.

If you want to post onto the Internet about views you have, because that garners you some kind of satisfaction, that's cool. More specifically, if you post on GRcade and have views that someone else thinks are kind of bad, and they explain why, asking them somewhat facetiously to please not do that, is well... forward.

Because, believe it or not, I actually read topics in full from the date I last viewed them, and it sometimes takes me time to catch up with the forum every single day. I do that for my own leisure but also because I have a responsibility to it.

Also, not only have you not addressed that criticism, because that's a bad thing supposedly (but not bad enough to elicit a reasoned response from you, besides dropping an absolute dumpster pile of a Spectator link that I found pretty upsetting as a non heteronormative man who has suffered from depression and thoughts of suicide for my entire life, owing to my family's and many other people's - but principally men - inability to address emotions productively or give a gooseberry fool about their consequences) I have every right to quote anything anyone says and comment or expand or opine on it, because that's literally what a strawberry floating forum is for and how ever many pages (that are arbitrarily counted in the software and totally meaningless in the expanse of time) have since "transpired" is completely meaningless. This is getting beyond stupid.

I only reported your post as off-topic in the Gaming forum, I have not reported others to the moderators for disagreeing with me.

Actually you didn't report Herdanos at all, you reported me, a report I read and responded to and told you that no further action would be taken because I didn't feel it would be appropriate in those specific circumstances. If you are unhappy about that, take it up with literally anyone else.

So not only are you ignoring valid points and mocking them in a polite manner, as well as downplaying the importance of certain issues (such as describing trans people as a "niche community"), you are misrepresenting your own actions.

If you would like to make a formal complaint, you can write to me at the address registered for this domain name. If you no longer wish to participate on GRcade as a consequence of my or anyone else's behaviour in response to your own, I can suggest two actions:

1. Turn off the Internet

I don't personally believe JK Rowling to be transphobic, her blog post on the subject was nuanced. Most of the UK supports transgender rights, yet would also find it a bit silly to use the term "people who menstruate" instead of "women".

This is the failure of the liberal and centrist, it renders them ineffctual. Though he became a massive lib later in his life, christopher hitchens did not extend politness when he disagreed with someone, and it made him more effective at getting his point across.
In general, feel free to post your opinions here, and feel free to ignore any responses against them. While doing so would be frustrating, no one can make you respond. Asking that other people don't question you at all is a bizarre hill to die on.
