Have they said what the murderer's ethnicity is, so people can decide if it's terrorism or not?

They seem to have all decided it is Angela Raynor's fault.

Oh, well it has to go both ways then: Boris Johnson is responsible for all hate crimes against gay people and black people.

I wonder what his voting record looks like...

While motive isn't known - he's a fairly standard Tory banana split. He'll have voted the exact same way you'll guess he's done based on his picture. He was very Brexiteer as well IIRC.

While no one deserves to be stabbed, there's an incredibly long list of reasons people might want to, And given his actions/stances offer the years it's hard to feel much sympathy for him over those he inflicted suffering on.

But he's dead now, so expect days of evangilising him in the press...

Honestly I wouldn't put it past some random local politics thing or a right winger deciding that the Tory party aren't far right enough. I really hope it's not some pro EU / LGBT/ abortion / immigration activist.

Edit - You're right. assuming it's political it's probably (Again we don't know) someone targeting the Tory party he represents rather than someone targeting this specific MP for a voting record.

If I had to guess - based on nothing but the topics in the public eye at the mo - I'd guess Anti-Vax. (To be clear nothing to go on)

But then who the strawberry float knows if that means they'll be left wing, right wing etc

strawberry floating hell, he was a bellend. Extremely consistent against welfare and equal rights for gay people, in particular.

To be clear, I hate his killer more and he does not deserve to be dead or to have been physically assaulted, but he was clearly a massive, massive strawberry floating arsehole.

It's a constituency surgery, it could well be someone angry over a neighbour's trees.

Where they are on the political spectrum almost ends up being irrelevant. That level of extremism which leads to murder I think goes beyond all that. Almost all conservative minded and liberal minded people will be utterly sickened by this (apart from a few with extremist views), just like they were with Jo Cox's shocking murder.

Very dangerous times in UK politics.

I wish this were true, but people will use it for point scoring if things line up correctly for them. I've already seen people blaming Remoaners and lefties for it. And everything directly blaming Labour and Rayner.

Well yeah, the same happened with Jo Cox. Which was also bollocks.

But I still think in the big scheme of things, in the real world, it's a relatively small percentage of people who would dive into all that. Social media has a way of skewing things in this regard sometimes.

Almost all but the Prime Minister maybe.

A country to have two MPs murdered in the space of five years within their own constituencies is a very strawberry floated up one.

That's not true. The man who murdered Jo Cox was radicalised by the likes of Britain First and the "traitor" rhetoric surrounding Remain supporters before the referendum.

We have zero idea what was behind today's attack. It might be political, religious, personal or just a random killing.

No, I mean as in some people were blaming all Tory voters for her death, etc. Which was bollocks.

What leads extremists to act out is usually on the fringes of any political movement. The point being it goes beyond normal left/right perception of issues.

I thought I’d look back and see if Amess had been discussed here before. Unfortunate phrasing.

The irony of people who despise the Tories for their lack of compassion toward human life posting things like "tory banana split" and "the only good tory..." in reference to a man who has just lost his life at his work is deafening.

Oddly David Amess wrote in his last book about how the killing of Jo Cox had made him worried to meet constituents.

The same fools instantly switched from "it was Raynor's fault!" to "it's the bloody Somalian's!".

The man isn't even cold.

Yep, and just like when Jo Cox died, it's brought out all the the usual wankers and trolls hell bent on causing trouble.

I wonder at what point Priti Patel will propose bringing back the death penalty for killing MPs. And then a few other offenses. And then a few more.
