The prime time news programmes have been utterly glorious :datass: ITV going full pelt for it, with their major scoop.

Backbenchers very publicly turning on Johnson now. It's just delicious. Fill your team full of banana splits in order to get a short-term boost and you will always pay for it in the long run.

I am hoping that emboldened, scorned grunts will go on to cause the government quite a bit of trouble .

There's a good chance Johnson will be forced out.

We'll still end up with a Tory in charge, but at least the clown will not be our leader.

But the rest of the rogue gallery are just as bad or if not worse than he is. Imagine Raab as our PM :dread:

Raab won't be PM, I don't think he would have the support of enough of the party. I'd see it coming down to a vote between Truss, Gove, Hunt, Sunak and maybe Javid. That would then get whittled down to Truss and Sunak with maybe Hunt as an outsider whose not tainted by being in a Johnson cabinet. Truss would be a disaster, not Johnson level but still awful. I'd favour Hunt but purely so that we'd get more moderate voices in cabinet. And there is literally no one as bad as Johnson unless Rees Mogg got it and I can't see that happening.

They are all bad, but Johnson is the worst.

The party members will decide on the new PM, unless somebody runs unopposed. I can't see them going for a Raab type.

Whoever it is, they will be an evil banana split. But at least Boris will be gone. And if it's a more sensible Tory, we may well get rid of Patel, Raab, Dorries etc from the Cabinet.

We actually have some form of normal Government (by Tory standards) with Hunt

Plus, I can't see a Boris style cult forming around a boring strawberry floater like Hunt. Which will help get the strawberry floaters out of government at the next election.

I think this is the key thing. Johnson has a personality cult none of the others do which is why him getting forced out can only be a good thing. Johnson can shrug off far more than any other Tory MP.
