I would have been supportive of a coalition between left labour from a few years ago and the greens

Without a coalition, we get the Tories ruling with a large majority.

Is that really preferable to a Labour/Lib coalition?

Preferable? No, but I don't want either because it means our only choices are between a terrible system and a slightly less harsh form of the same system

They are your only realistic choices. It's fine to want something better but it's not going to happen.

Am I not permitted to choose neither? I don't think it'd be wrong now to just give up on the system

Of course you can give up.

But the two choices are still the only realistic outcomes whether you participate or not.

Eh idk about that; societal/political collapse in the west is quite possible within our lifetimes, and so by that point I will have many many more choices

Neoliberalism and Neoconservatism are the two halves of the chain that binds us to this stagnating system. At least the guitar guy in mad max is (presumably) living a fulfilling life

Dibs on being the Doof Warrior.

The reality is, the Tories are getting in next time if they don't do something drastic like a coalition. And I don't want them in charge when things get worse in the world over the next decade or two

Labour are by no means perfect but to even draw a tangential comparison between them and the Conservative party in its current form is ludicrous IMO. This Tory government has caused actual real harm that would not have happened under a centre left government.

Yeah but strawberry float both of them when you could live in a world that has no societal/political structure at all and, err, probably be brutally murdered for whatever paltry, rotten food you managed to scavenge from someone else's dismembered corpse.

How does this work?

Government are all Labour ministers, on any bills Lib Dems/SNP either back or refuse to. In major matters which can bring down the government (i..e budget & confidence in votes), Lib Dem & SNP vote with Labour. In return SNP/Lib Dem get veto power over the budget so can horse trade, i.e. SNP more devolved powers/money for Scotland, Lib Dems get some things over social care, maybe some voting reform (probably at local level), free vote on cannabis legislation etc.

I mean, they don't care as long as they're not being affected by any of their policies.

They'll continue voting for them as long as they blame the poor, disabled and non white cis people for everyone's problems.

Morality aside isn't one of the major problems effecting this country the lack of working age people?

Our productivity is 20% behind France/Germany so_ :|_ , there was a pool of Deliveroo drivers waiting around for orders outside of McDonalds and there's a car handwash near by. I'm not convinced.

Canada won a gold medal yesterday in women's football. One of the team is openly transgender and has become the first openly trans Olympic medalist.

The TERFs and bigots are out in force with their usual bile. Lots of "this is a MAN" "does HE still have a PENIS" etc etc.

Trouble is, these idiots are showing themselves up for the ignorant dumbarses they really are.

TERFs showing their arse will never not be funny, but it's still tragic that they end up controlling the discourse under any story that should be a purely positive one for Quinn, and the Canadian football team as a whole.

Seen some of the GC crowd now insisting that Quinn isn't really trans, because nobody confirms perfectly to the gender binary and so all humans are technically non binary. :fp:

It's amazing how quickly they change from "I just have honest concerns over unfairness in women's sport" to "non-binary is just made up rubbish".

Can someone check that Tom Cruise isn't filming War of the Worlds 2 in the area?
