The Commons can eventually force it through if they want.

This government might collapse before that can happen though.

It's inherently unequal to do that. They must issue free or state mandated ID, which is just going back to the NO-ID discussion points and campaign from decades ago.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

How is he allowed to get away with such a ridiculous story. Its farcical. He's lied many times in the past but this story is just such a stretch my 8 year old wouldn't try it.

He's what your 8 year old would become if you didn't challenge their lies as a child.

The whole "was it a work event" thing is so irrelevant that it's not so much trying to move the goalposts as erecting new ones on the halfway line.

They want to make people invest completely in that argument that they'll implicitly accept if it was a work event, it was ok. Which is nonsense. It obviously went against the principle of the restrictions in place!

With every allegation of wrongdoing they claim either

    • It's his home!

    • It's his workplace!

So they have Carrie's mate over for Christmas?

It's their home! They're allowed help with childcare!

So there are people in the garden?

It's a workplace! Just stressed people outside after work!

The sad thing is there are still people that believe this bollocks.

I wonder which advisor realised that making him wear a mask means they can hide that tell-tale smirk he does when he's lying.

Today's comments from my #WorkplaceTories were that Cummings is the one leaking all this because he's resentful towards being sacked. :fp:

Yesterday one was ranting about the removal of the free licence fee for pensioners (because "they're struggling enough") and it's because of "scroungers" who get free licences.

Which after a quick look online the only people who can apply for any discounted TV licence as it stands is if you're registered blind. And even then it's 50%.

Damn visually impaired scroungers

Another reason I want to leave jobs because the nonsense people spout here is incredibly dumb.

Exactly.

Saying "Cummings is a lying resentful gooseberry fool" only makes Johnson look worse as he employed him (and stuck by him after Barnard Castle) in the first place.

His whole "nobody told me it was against the rules" denial is a petty way of avoiding the question 'Did Cummings warn you it was a bad idea?'. He's basically admitting it's true but Cummings didn't technically say it was against the rules because he shouldn't need to, it obviously was.

It also confirms that he didn't just walk into his garden and find 100 people had been invited to a party there without his knowledge. He knew the party was going ahead but now claims he didn't know that the rules forbid it. Either that's a lie (it definitely is) or he's so inept that he should resign immediately anyway.
