:dread: I wouldn't usually paste the worm-riddled "thoughts" of random far-right MPs onto here, but this seemed worth posting in the context of OBON Day. Very predictable of course - as the far-right build on their position we're going to reach unbearable levels of flag-shagging.

All of this deference to the Queen is well and good but what's going to happen when she shuffles off this mortal coil and then Charles becomes king and starts sticking his nose in the government's environmental policies?

We get a portrait of Charles instead.

I needed something to replace my Prince Andrew portrait, so I'm down for this.

One day you'll stab that sodden portrait and Andrew will die, drowned in a waterfall of his own sweat.

Is there a link for this? I can't find anything about it.

Doubt it will have made news beyond the Polish borders, every day the ruling PiS party come out with similar rhetoric.

There's a link to a really truncated clip here: https://mobile.twitter.com/kasiababis/s ... 7192759301

The Education Minister, who you can see smiling behind a mask while the woman MP talks, tends to take it further than other government ministers in calling gay people vermin, inhuman, etc.

I may have mistranslated slightly in record numbers being growing/high numbers. Either way, the govenrment treatment of LGBT+ folk here is beyond strawberry floated. And getting worse.

We should just order hundreds if they're free. Get this organisation to waste its money.

Wasn't it the 2010 election where Labour had a poster saying "don't let him take Britain back to the 1980s".

With a picture of the monarch in every home, it should have read "1880s".

The really funny thing is that it's a ridiculous idea that the majority of people will pretty much laugh at. But it will cut through and no doubt be part of a continuing trend of increasing support for the Tories.

The Tories 40% will lap it up, and that's all that matters.

I'd expect there to be a noticeable difference. The Queen's old, older than all these flag shagging, war winning boomers and she's been around forever. 'God Save the Queen' is all the vast majority of this country knows. When it suddenly becomes 'God Save the King' there'll be a change. Well, once we're past the several years of mandatory mourning

Well that actually makes sense considering their obsession with patriotism.

God save the queen?

If Jesus was black, he'd have force choked her to death by now.

There's a nice portrait of the Queen on the new £50 note so I've asked for one of those.
