Democracy is so broken in this country if this rabble of utter shite is the best we have to offer.

So is the conclusion that Liz Truss is an idiot whilst Nadine Dorris is just an awful person? I really wish people would do research before voting for their local mp and not just blindly following party allegiances.

You honestly think tory voters aren't intentionally voting for the most awful person?

Interesting that the shows named are all very very white. No mention of Chewing Gum for a modern sitcom or Desmond's for an older sitcom? No Goodness Gracious Me or Real McCoy for sketch shows? No I May Destroy You for a drama show?

A law demanding "Britishness" is showcased is meaningless without defining what they think is Britishness and what they think is ethnic nonsense.

Any time I'm in an Indian restaurant and I overhear some group ordering gooseberry fool generic Korma, plain rice and plain naan, I always think of goodness gracious me and the going for an English sketch. It's so good

I'll have the blandest thing on the menu!

Things that are proper British. *taps nose* You know.

Korma isn't curry :capnscotty:

Are you ready to order?

Er, no sorry mate, can you just give us 10 minutes to look at the menu?

*10 minutes pass*

Yeah we're ready now mate.

Ok what can I get you?

Erm, 4 chicken Korma. No sorry, 3 chicken Korma and one chicken tikka masala. 4 plain rice. 2 plain naan. And 4 diet cokes.

Anything else?

Nah, well just have some vanilla ice cream in one of those plastic penguins that you do for pudding mate.

*chef receives order and kills himself*

I mean, I doubt the chef cares, it's not like he's cooking authentic Indian and Bangladeshi recipes, it's all been heavily modified for the UK palette and to account for availability of herbs and spices.

Probably appreciates the easy order....
