Didn't think I'd see Cameron saying something like that!!!

YouGov wrote:
New immigration policy: The Government has announced plans to introduce a new points-based immigration system to attract skilled workers to the UK but decrease overall levels of immigration

48% of Britons think immigration is too high currently, compared to 33% who think the level is about right

Only 6% say there is not enough immigration into the UK

Conservatives (71%) are most likely to say immigration is too high, compared to 33% of Labour voters who say the same

Speaking the local language: Under the new immigration system, those seeking a work visa for the UK will be required to speak English before they arrive

Eight in ten Brits (83%) think that someone moving to a new country should have to learn the language of that country

92% of Britons aged over 65 say you should learn the language of where you live, but only 66% of Brits aged 18 – 24 say the same

Brit Awards: Rap artist Dave won album of the year just moments after calling the Prime Minister racist at last night’s Brit Awards

However, 41% of Britons do not think that Boris Johnson is racist

On the flip side 30% of Brits do think he is racist

Any follow up questions to this nonsense? Like "what is an acceptable level of immigration" and "what makes you think it's too high"?

No because YouGov is about shaping opinion, not just recording it.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

48%?

Under the Brexit democracy rules, that must mean we should have unlimited immigration.

To be fair they only record yes no answers. So it'd be difficult to ask those questions without getting somebody to look through all the answers.

Really? They recently had a poll on who the greatest Prime Minister is, with a list of their detailed greatest accomplishments. I assumed they had people write them down and simply pooled them into categories rather than determine the list.

Since Boris took over we have been suffering under a government those main policies seem to be transcribed from stuff scribbled on the back of a fag packet. At least, that's what most of it feels like. It's all sound bites and announcements followed by hot air and poorly thought out implementation. Everything feels slapdash and rushed.

I suppose this is what it must feel like being an American under a Republican administration.

Boris Johnson has a £15,000 holiday and lies about who paid for it. That’s fine.

Caroline Lucas raises £150 for a fundraiser. BURN THE WITCH!

I've signed up for their surveys they've never had any question where I've had to put text in. I'm thinking of getting rid of it as I don't really like answering the questions though.

Dave's latest album was brilliant.

Good to set a baseline percentage of people who are inarguably wrong, I guess

BBC News saw fit to send that as a push notification to my phone, such was the importance of the story.

Spiked is basically that magazine from Good Morning With Richard not Judy where they purposely try to be edgy. How can you actually listen to what he said and actually write that. He's just totally missed the point, is he trying to say that all hip hop needs to be edgy to be good?

On the other hand Dave actually seems like a decent musician.

Yeah, it's depressing that this kind of stuff is so popular.

https://news.sky.com/story/priti-patel- ... om79fVJH30

Anyone seen this? Our government is a total gooseberry fool show.

Home Secretary Priti Patel has come under fire after suggesting eight million "economically inactive" Britons can fill vacancies following a post-Brexit clampdown on immigration.

The government set out its new post-Brexit immigration system on Wednesday, which will deny visas to "low-skilled" workers and require others to achieve a certain number of points based on their salary and qualifications.

Ms Patel hailed a "very significant moment in the UK's immigration policy", with the new system due to come into force when EU free movement rules end in January 2021.
