That Lib Dem win is quite stunning, particularly with the vote share they got. Hopefully there are a lot of Tory MPs feeling uncomfortable this morning at the thought of a GE, they could get massacred. Lovely day!

That swing to the Lib Dems is enormous!

Tory MPs should have delayed the vote of no confidence to next week.

If that swing to Labour was maintained in a General Election we'd have Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer (unless he's issued a fixed penalty notice today and resigns).

This is absolutely delicious. They lost all the council seats they were defending yesterday as well.

Surely the Dowden resignation is huge, too?

The biggest story is that "don't worry, I'm not Harold Shipman" wasn't a big vote winning phrase.

You'd have to think there is barely a seat in the country now that could be considered a safe Tory one. I guess we'll find out what is most important to a cabinet minister now, a job in two years' time, or a cabinet post.

It may be a blessing in disguise. If Johnson remains in post, and he ain't gonna quit, we could actually see a big enough bleeding of support for a change in government! :toot:
