Minor compared to platforming a serial abuser, but promoting the term "gold star lesbian" is pretty dodgy too since it's basically a way of discriminating against/denying the legitimacy of people who had non-female partners prior to coming out as a lesbian

The whole thing is a complete mess and at this point I think it's fairly safe to say the BBC is on its way to institutionalizing transphobia (arguably it's already there)

The fact it was even published that article (noting the various stages and signoffs it would have required) means it's already there.

Deputy Speaker, Dame Eleanor Laing.

You have announced too much of it already, she tells him - you should save it for MPs first.

She then adds she looks forward to hearing "the remainder of your announcement"

That BBC article is strawberry floating outrageous. Can't believe they published such a biased piece with blatant selective reasoning and completely unrepresentative sampling for the surveys.

Edit: the transgender one

Jair Bolsonaro: Brazil senators recommend president faces charges over COVID policies

Brazil has the world's second highest COVID-19 death toll with more than 600,000 fatalities and Bolsonaro has been accused of putting the economy ahead of people's lives.

Brazil's President Jair Bolsonaro should face a series of criminal indictments over his response to the coronavirus pandemic, according to a committee of the country's senators .

The committee voted 7-4 to formally approve a report calling for prosecutors to try Mr Bolsonaro on charges ranging from charlatanism and inciting crime to misuse of public funds and crimes against humanity.

It was the culmination six-month investigation into how the government's actions related to the world's second-highest COVID-19 death toll.

Can we do the same please.
