How the hell does that even happen? I mean all of the laptops should have been built from the same base image meaning if one of them was infected with something then all of them would be.

Or have they seriously just had some guy manually setting up laptops and just downloading setup files from the internet? Oh god they have haven't they :fp:

I know a lot of places are donating laptops so conceivably it could be an error with a small batch done by volunteers. Of course that's still ultimately the government's fault because they should've provided them in the first place.

Or it could be a contractor's fault!

That's an incredible thing to have happened. Is there a most likely explanation / definitive explanation for this?

Probably PCs moved from one department to another, not formatted and just given to kids to use. Wouldn't be surprised if we get stories of "my kid clicked on an mpeg on the desktop and we watched in horror as two girls ..."

Wish my image sig would work

The trouble with talk 'shock jock' radio is that it's following the same principles as in the US. Your BBC Radio 4's of this world tend to be rather boring. Whereas if you get people arguing, you get the listeners riled up by intentionally coordinating various opposing and sometimes extreme views using contrived methods, you get more exciting radio. See also TV: The Wright Stuff on Channel 5 and more recently Question Time on BBC1.

If you start Jerry Springering everything, it becomes more entertaining. And for a commercial outfit, that means £.

Good on the NL Govt but this strawberry floating disgusts me - truly an example of playing politics, to the detriment of a child's life

The trouble with this approach is that it yields the same results

Just having a website that's purely the word 'yes' would be almost as accurate.
