I believe it's Landlords with HMOs that are the ones who need taxing. Unbelievable how much some of these properties can make.
Just as an example I visited a normal 3 bed terraced house recently that's been converted to a five bed HMO. The landlord is charging £500 a month per room. £2,500 in rent when fully occupied. A house the same size across the road is up for rent at £900 a month for the whole property. Most landlords buy properties on interest only as well and just shift the property on 20-30 years later to pay off the capital element.
I wouldn't go after those with just the one investment property.

My beef is with landlords renting multiple properties and flipping them at a profit on top of the rent as well, so that's 100% wealth on wealth capitalisation and not an "investment" in anyone or anything besides supporting their opulent life.
HMOs are the worst, I lived in 4 even if one was a uni halls of course they made more than their money back as the development was built in the 1970s.

Here is a quick summary:
Liz Truss becomes the new foreign secretary, with her predecessor, Dominic Raab, demoted to justice secretary - as well as being appointed Lord Chancellor and deputy prime minister
Education Secretary Gavin Williamson has been sacked, along with Robert Buckland who was Justice Secretary and Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick
Co-chair of the Conservative Party, Amanda Milling, has also been fired
Both Chancellor Rishi Sunak and Home Secretary Priti Patel are keeping their jobs
