In an era when forms of hatred and discrimination such as racism and homophobia are rightly considered to be appalling, this still carried on largely unopposed, and a large proportion of the population even seemed to support it.

Remember Cameron's 2015 election cry? 6 billion in welfare cuts he promised, and the voting public said 'bring it on'.

Don't get me started. I used to have an account with Very and they used to take or want to take payments every 4 weeks whilst the average person gets paid monthly. This meant at least one month you ended up paying twice.

After many complaints of trying to get them to change I told them outright they were only getting monthly payments. In the end they put my account on hold and charged me monthly to clear it. :fp:

I honestly think a lot of people's financial issues would be better managed if we all got paid weekly rather than monthly. How many of us have that last week of the month where money is tight? Budgeting for lengthy periods is a pain in the ass.

I only say this because during the years I spent as a supply teacher I got paid weekly and when I had regular work In was never skint because I could always rely on a fresh influx of cash the following Friday.
