Being wrong on Brexit doesn't make him wrong on pay and conditions for railway workers.

But, yeah, the left wing Brexit supporters are a weird bunch.

That's right Peter, human rights are just a thing humans invented. Not like Magna Carta that had no human involvement at all!

I hope not. Money is just an invention and so he shouldn't believe in it.

He was pushed for a yes or no answer by Robert Peston and then told he'd be given the opportunity to explain his answer later in the show - he was not seen again after that.

Brexit's a non-issue in this instance, being used as a way to divide and conquer union supporters.

I feel the need to clarify that when I facepalmed the idea that Brexit wasn't a mistake, I wasn't implying that maybe railway workers shouldn't be paid a fair wage after all, I was just facepalming the idea that Brexit wasn't a mistake.

I see the #FBPE lot have decided that workers rights are only worth fighting for if those workers have the correct voting records.

Given the in-depth investigation they did on what was actually written on the side of a bus, I can't imagine he'd have done anything different.

Many of the same people will accuse the left of demanding too much purity from the centre on policies that protect minorities or redistribute wealth.

It's very frustrating because it is so blatant. Next up Sky news will ask Mick Lynch to rank the Die Hard films in an attempt to discredit him.

In fairness it is the right time of year to watch and talk about Die Hard.

Hundreds of British Airways staff vote to strike over pay

Hundreds of British Airways workers at Heathrow Airport have voted to go on strike over pay.

Unite and GMB union members who are mostly check-in staff and ground crew backed industrial action.

A total of 700 workers are set to walkout during the summer holidays, when demand from travellers is expected to return to pre-pandemic levels.

Davidstow Cathedral City cheese firm pollution fine

One of the UK's biggest cheddar cheese suppliers has been fined more than £1.5m after admitting a host of pollution and odour charges.

The Dairy Crest Ltd plant at Davidstow, Cornwall, polluted the local area over a five year period up to 2021, killing fish and creating strong odours.

The firm, which produces Cathedral City, Clover and Country Life, said the issues had been rectified.

It was fined a total of £1.52m at Truro Crown Court on Thursday.

The judge said £272,746 costs had already been paid.

The court was told there were "plant failures", leaks and overspills at the company site, owned by Saputo Dairy UK.

Dairy Crest had previously admitted 21 of 27 charges, relating to pollution incidents and permit breaches, which were brought by the Environment Agency (EA).

Another food company with piss poor behaviour. I like their extra mature cheddar but don’t purchase it very often as the own brand stuff tastes just as good. There’s so much choice on the cheddar front I can’t be supporting these type of practices.

Ironically they’re “proud supporters” of the Prince’s Countryside Fund which exists to “improve the quality of rural life”. :fp:
