You aren't going to get stabbed on a day trip to visit the museums, so I really wouldn't worry about it.

Seriously though, knife crime in London disproportionately affects those living in the cities poorest areas. Tourists/visitors are perfectly safe.

Linking to the Sun :dread:

Seconding Knoyleo by the way, as a middle-class bloke living in London the only time I’ve ever felt threatened when was walking through the less well-off bits of Camden before it got properly gentrified.

So glad we have Boris as PM, all these jobless people can get on their bikes and find a job at a local building site. :fp:

Indeed it is. However those areas are increasingly becoming no go zones for ‘outsiders’.

You sound about 2 posts away from turning to a Fox News style "London's Islamic no go zones!"

Avoiding London because of knife crime is ridiculous

There are plenty of better reasons to avoid London!

Some parts of London are now effectively a "no-go zone" for people disgusted by cereal and toast themed restaurants

Having lived in high knife crime areas, they're not really no go areas for outsiders. The people getting stabbed are mostly kids who live in the area because of gang violence. When I lived in Brixton I use to hear a load of stuff about a running gang war between school kids from Brixton and South Wimbledon.

It's incredible that Boris actually makes her leadership look strong and stable!

Edit: It's like the Trump effect, making Bush seem like an intellectual and oratory genius.

At what point have I made reference to race or religion in relation to knife crime? Don't be a Hexx.

I live a stones throw away from a road once described as "one of the most dangerous in Britain"

It's improved over the years, but it was never as scary as the headlines would have people believe. Most crime is shoplifting or gangs, ordinary people have little to fear. Muggings and assaults happen of course, but it can happen anywhere. And there are millions of other horrible events that happen to people every day.

May hasn't been afraid to stick it to the current government. I wish more ex PM's would stick around as MPs.

You seem to miss the point quite often. I wasn't saying you were being racist or Islamophobic, I was commenting on your "no go zones!" hyperbole.

Is it hyperbole? I don't think so. There are areas in my town that I 100% would not walk down or visit on my own.

I actually think as it was my point, it's you that is missing it.

I lived on Atlantic Road in Brixton, which was the heart of the Brixton riots. It's proper gentrified there now, it use to be full of drug dealers when I lived there but I never felt threatened by anyone living there.

High foot fall, shopping and eatery areas aren't the problem anymore. It's moved to other areas.
