Aren't most conferences just a chance for the press to get drunk while pretending to work anyway?

A "Tory MP" has been arrested on suspicion of rape according to the BBC who are reporting tabloid reports. Not sure if the name will be released tomorrow, but seems odd that an MP would get anonymity at this point.
