The Tory rebels are obviously hoping to get back into the party when Johnson leaves as they have made no effort to form their own group or join the Lib Dems and are sitting in their same backbench positions. Clearly in denial. The senile Conservative party membership overwhelmingly back Johnson and the idea that he would suddenly be replaced by another moderate is for the birds.

At this point I think the Conservative are a terminal case. Their roots are dead or dying and the rest of the organism is living on borrowed time. Ironically they have actually been recruiting a lot of new members recently; the problem being that these are mostly closet or outright fascists and more older white men who will soon go the way of the rest of their people.
