Perhaps, but there are other reasons why they won't support Corbyn, and unlike everyone else right now, they can't be whipped to support anyone.
Which is why a more neutral temporary leader (like Harman or Clarke) that isn’t a party leader would be a perfect choice. Nobody would believe either of those are making a power grab or were trying to implement a wholesale set of changes. They would literally be there to either get an extension and election or to be in charge while a referendum is called.

Aye, and this is exactly what people like Jo Swinson are asking for. It would be extremely risky to call a vote of no confidence before we've chosen a candidate that can command a majority, as it would then lead to a general election, the date of which would certainly be after the 31st of October, and a no deal Brexit would be inevitable.

If he is leader for a few weeks people might see that he's not as bad as the papers and Tories say, and they wouldn't be able to use those same scare tactics again in the upcoming election. That is also the reason Lib Dems don't want him as leader.

What you say maybe true. However, I still maintain that she is an awful leader for the Lib Dems; in her time in the coalition government she failed to act as a mitigating force, instead she chose to enable most of their more egregious activities by voting for them. Oh, there is also the small matter that she thinks Thatcher is deserving of any sort of admiration.
