Turns out Grenfell Tower was the Fire Brigade's fault!

This is utterly disgusting shifting of the blame.

I have no idea if this is good or bad or neither.

I mean, a GE is inevitable at this point and I didn't understand Labour's objections. But then someone said the Tories wanted a December election as universities won't be in session meaning the student vote will be compromised somehow?

Also, I'm coming home mid-December. I'm registered to vote by post as I live in France but if I'm not there to pick up my voting ballot this may lead to a situation where I'm in the UK but unable to vote as my ballot will be in France. Which is strawberry floating annoying. I'll be making a bunch of phonecalls to Manchester Council in the upcoming days methinks.

I think a Labour coalition will be the result. So assuming you want a referendum then you're good.

I think the student thing could go either way. They would be in a similar position to you having to potentially rely on postal votes but not knowing if they'll be home or at uni and then having their ballot in the wrong place. Also it's not festival season which helped with the numbers voting last time. Momentum will hopefully nullify both points though and they are still running their website for tactical uni voting I think

What’s changed since yesterday that meets their preconditions?

The shadow cabinet looking over it for 24 hours after the EU confirmed the article 50 extension. Probably running the numbers on things like uni students which taf point out above.

Corbyn is saying that ‘his condition of taking a no deal Brexit off the table has now been met’. What’s happened to confirm that?

The extension to 31 Jan has been approved. It’s hard to see how No Deal could happen before then.

But that happened before the vote and they were saying it wasn't enough.

And the vote was last night. They saw it was extended to the end of January unless we vote to leave early. My understanding was they didn't trust BoJo to not push his deal through, and all we got since was no. 10 saying "Don't worry".

The shadow cabinet was still in talks about it during yesterday...

Looks like there wasn't a consensus

Is the date definitely the 12th December? Some wanted the 11th, I guess that's what is part of the Lib Dem/SNP one Labour are backing today?

I guess Boris could still move the election date to early February and screw everything but it seems unlikely.

How many times do you need this explained to you?

Corbyn wants an election. He has since the 2017 election.

What he didn’t want to do was allow Johnson to set the agenda. Now the extension is in place until 31 January, Corbyn will proceed with an election.
