Is it me or has Starmer piled on the pounds in the last year?

History just repeats itself doesn't it. This is Black Wednesday, Johnson will tank and taint the Tories, and Starmer is John Smith Mk 2.

I can see the Tories turning on Boris and blaming him solely for this entire fiasco, then try to claim some sort of credibility. The sad thing is, it will probably work.

If Brexit wasn't looming over the horizon then I think there'd be even more pressure on Johnson to go. Unlike Brexit, which is tainting anyone who touches it, a sensibly managed response to Covid would do wonders for a PM (just look at Jacinda Arden).

I can't help but feel that this is being used as a bit of a smoke screen so the Tories can make concessions to the EU and keep their base inside.

Out of interest if Boris is ousted as leader who do you think would win the next leadership contest?

Edit:

My feeling is that Jeremy Hunt would probably win although I'd like to see Gove do the job as he'd probably be worse than Johnson.

Well we seem to be getting worse with every PM. Cameron, May and then Johnson. Satan himself is the only possible one to continue the chain, but is unlikely to win as he'd be too competent.

Come on Satan would do way too good a job to lead the Tories.
