There's talk about a vote next year. The Tories have been talking about running a better to together campaign to various people.

After the last few years, I'm sure the Scottish people will believe them.

It’ll stem from a combination of wanting to look tough on crime and terrorism (also why the Overseas Operations Bill was abstained) in a fruitless attempt to win over Tory voters, and wanting to further push out dissenting leftist voices from the forefront of the party.

It’s terrible leadership in all and reminiscent of the fence-sitting approach to several issues that marked Corbyn's ultimately fatal premiership.

It shouldn’t be this hard to pin down what a human rights lawyer's principles are!

I just don't get the argument that abstaining will help win over Tory voters because it's just fence sitting. Would a Tory voter really be won over by Labour abstaining more than voting against the bill? Surely they'll just feel a bit annoyed Labour didn't get behind "making Britain more secure" or whatever.
