She's loyal to him and that's all he cares about. Priti Patel already had to resign as an MP a couple of years ago for having secret meetings with Israel. If that didn't keep her away from government permanently then a little bit of bullying isn't going to put Boris off.

You have to remember the standard in a Johnson government is much lower than any other in history. Boris can't exert authority over this sort of behaviour when he has done far, far worse himself.

It sets such a shitty example. My workplace go out of their way to encourage decent behaviour from staff and management, and we have anonymous lines to report harassment and bullying. I'm pleased to say they take it genuinely seriously. It's the same in schools, my sons school are excellent from what I have seen and tackle any aggressive or bullying behaviour instantly.

Then you have the actual government who basically don't give a gooseberry fool. Cronyism, corruption, negligence and bullying, it all seems to be generally encouraged.

I saw another genuine attempt at defence that suggested she couldn't possibly be a bully because she's five feet tall.

I agree, but it's also the danger of prioritising identity politics over material politics. Eventually the right catches on and uses liberal rhetoric against them.
