strawberry float me :fp:

They'll wheel out the likes of Farage for "balance" on climate change, but strawberry float talking to a trans person on trans issues.

How trans people are treated in this country, especially in terms of news and media coverage, is absolutely appalling and so upsetting.

The last Mayor was thrown out due to corruption the general view is the new people were either involved somehow. They haven't given any real reason though.

The left wing candidate was going to win, and top-down interference in candidate selection is only Stalinism at certain times...

What on earth is going on in Scotland? The Scots Gov have published a statement from Salmond, from what I understand, only to then withdraw the document and redact it. But it's already in the public domain and has been for weeks from what I have read. So what is the point in withdrawing it and redacting it now?

It's having a Streisand Effect too. The story had been bubbling along for weeks now but was the main story on Newsnight last night due to the Scottish Crown Office redacting the evidence even though the Courts had clarified it was fine to be published with no redactions.

It's still a tricky story to explain clearly and concisely and with the redaction it makes it difficult for Salmond to produce a Smoking Gun level of evidence too. But just by suppressing evidence it plays into Salmond's argument that there was something very dodgy going on.

Brian Rose from London Real, is running for London Mayor in May and is milking that fact he got fined £200 for breaking Covid rules. Coffeezilla says it best.

I really hope the current hatchet job in the right wing UK media backfires spectacularly in the Scottish elections in May.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has defended plans for teachers to grade GCSE and A-level pupils in England this summer as a "good compromise".

I think its a terrible idea.

I havent forgiven my chemistry A-level teacher predicting me a B, or my Maths GCSE teacher predicting me a B. strawberry floating insulting couple of banana splits, if i met either of them today i would rub their faces in gooseberry fool.

When we were doing Chemistry A-Level we had to queue up outside the department one day to get some results for a modular test we'd done a few weeks before. One girl was looking really hyped for her results and as the teacher walked past he turned to her and said ”Don't get your hopes up..."

So apparently it's cool now to leave someone stateless.

The UK considers immigrants and their descendants second class citizens, and it's genuinely pointless to try to argue otherwise.
