Andrea Leadsom is also expected to be announcing she's standing down.

Who is the Tory MP that would actually shock you if they said they were standing down. I think it would be Rees-Mogg for me.

Over 70 Tory MPs standing down  surely they are going to struggle to get candidates.

Braverman as there's a good chance she's going to be leading what's left of the Tory party at this rate.

I reckon with a bit of effort we could get a rumour going that CCHQ are very seriously considering selecting Boris Johnson for… let’s go with Bury St Edmunds.

Shall we all stand for all stand as Tory candidates if we win we can implement communism, nobody will have seen that move.

Senior Tories expect a significant number of further MP resignations over the weekend, in the wake of Gove’s and Leadsom’s decisions not to fight the election. Quite a number who have been re-approved as candidates have been in two minds, and thought they had till the autumn to decide. The party has more than 150 seats and rising with no candidate. That is a lot of candidates for CCHQ to find before 7 June and a lot of wasted campaigning days. It does rather indicate Sunak called the election before his party was ready

He's totally strawberry floated it, hasn't he . What kind of mug is going to jump into one of these vacant seats to go through six weeks of stressful hell only to end up as a loser?

We’d all resign from the party on day one, and form the Games & Stuff Party. Might even end up being the official opposition.

But I don’t think it’s worth everyone thinking I’m a Tory for the next six weeks.

GRcade manifesto:

1. Bowling is mandatory.

2. Additional parakeets to be released in London. Millions of them.

3. Stool Bloke is the new King.

4. Every building in the county to have a drive-thru installed.

5. War is declared against Vanuatu. No military action takes place but we never ever agree peace terms. Just for the lolz.

6. A role of Minister of Gaming is created. They have no power, they just play games all day.

7. The anniversary of Driv3ergate to be a bank holiday.

8. We will move the hand dryer in the gents’ urinals at the Crown & Treaty pub in Uxbridge, West London to an even more awkward location.

9. Boris Johnson's birthday will be a bank holiday. Except for him, he will be forced to spend the day eating cake. Non-stop. For the entire 24 hours.

10. The new national Anthem will be a rap song that is composed and performed by eighthours. Dressing as a dog will be optional.

We can really push for that change of law to stop companies leaving games in a broken state after a couple of years.

The problem is most people don't t have a clue who their local MP is or who the candidates are. They vote on party lines and that's it doing no research. If the Tories find candidates to replace the out going names then it won't matter, if someone is going to vote Tory then they will regardless of the name on the ballot.

Also there will always be someone wanting to stand as practice. The party will fund the down payment and it gives them experience so you'll likely find a lot of their candidates will be really young who aren't expecting to get in but maybe gain some experience for 5 years time when they'll feel they have a better shot.

Ballot paper should only have the candidate's name and not show which party they are standing for.

What are we, 3 days in? Gove has gone, best election campaign in 30 years! 8-)

Next on my hitlist is Mogg, but I need the rest of my constituency to play ball. Labour could get a 100 seat majority but I'll still be gutted if Mogg becomes my MP.

Sunak true to form is apparently taking a day off tomorrow to reboot his campaign already. Feels like every day since he became PM!
