It does make me wonder how well the Greens could do if they were given the amount of media attention that the likes of UKIP/Reform get.

Or if environmental activists were invited onto political shows as often as Tufton Street ghouls.

I wonder if Starmer could appease all sides at once by calling for a ceasefire on the conditions of the simultaneous surrender of Hamas and the resignation of Netanyahu?

Netanyahu should be held to full account for Israel’s role in the avoidable deaths of civilians but Hamas are equally to blame for hiding behind them yet nobody seems to be calling them out on this. A march for peace in Gaza is not equal to support for Hamas. There can be no peace until both aggressors are gone.

There should then be an international task force put together to help Gaza rebuild. The Fatah leadership in the West Bank is hardly a beacon of benevolence. It might be a good idea to get a neutral ally, maybe the UAE involved as a broker to help restore some stability to the whole Arabian peninsula?

Makes it even funnier in hindsight, how Sunak was being so bullish about that one Tory win (which was itself a drop in majority from 75k to 18k!).

They were also boasting a lot about things looking good for Street with the recounts as well :slol:

It's a strawberry floating joke that they can keep clawing onto power for so long while they bleed the country dry.

Are they really going to go with the "coalition of chaos" bullshit again? :fp:

Feels more like Sunak is gambling on Swinney shoring up the SNP vote

Their current majority is 47. Seems highly unlikely that there would be that many Tories ready to rebel. Especially when they know they are very likely to lose their seats soon.

We've had two coalitions in recent memory and they've both involved the Tories.

And no chaos resulted from either of them. :capnscotty:

What's the total number who have already confirmed they won't be standing at the next election? Not that I expect them to willingly give up their parliamentary meal ticket early.

It was 63 in April. Could be enough of them want to get on with their post-Westminster profiteering.
