I think Labour stand the best chance of winning this time than they have for many years.

The last couple of elections were dominated by issues such as Brexit, whereas this time it will be very different.

I think also, we've reached that natural tipping point where the electorate decides that it's time for a change (as seen in 1997 and 2010).

The really funny thing is that the voters who care most about deporting immigrants won't be voting Tory, they'll be voting for Reform.

Rather than spend time convincing ordinary people that the Tories will do something for them, they've instead spent their time radicalising racists who are now so far gone that they see the Tories as a socialist party.

They can only vote Reform if they stand candidates. I wonder if this election has come too soon for them to be able to run a big campaign.

If they stand aside for the Tories again, it'll kill them.

While nobody expected a July election, we all knew it was going to happen this year. If Reform don't have enough candidates ready to go, then it'll just show them as even more amateur than anybody ever realised.

They did have a few candidates to be fair. They just had to keep standing them down when it was inevitably revealed they were massive racists.

I'd imagine it'll be Sunak's.

He'll make more money grifting in America and I think there's a fairly good chance he wouldn't move the needle which would kind of undermine his reputation as an important figure in UK politics. Also the guy is super lazy.

As much as the right wing press (basically all UK press) like to focus on immigration, Brexit, trans rights and small boats. The real issues that people vote on have all gotten significantly worse in the last 5 + years. NHS waiting times, specialist services like Children's mental health, council tax, council services, care sector, cost of food, cost of energy, quality of water and green spaces, anti social behavior and quality of life.

Starmer deserves a vote for the Energy policy alone. Imagine if that works and then we did it with water.... Then trains.... Then housing.

Most important things is everyone registers to vote, then actually goes out and does it.

Wish my image sig would work

Rumours are Rishi called an election now as the belief is there will be major food and medicine shortages later this year due to a poor harvest (weather related) and new brexit Red tape causing major border issues with the EU which will be too late to delay or prevent by an new incoming government.

I wonder is the best we could hope for a labour/lib dem coalition government (rather than labour majority) where an EU referendum or customs union is part of the Lib Dem agreement for joining?

Plus he's not very good at winning seats in General Elections.

This would also be the best chance of PR. Would be my preference for sure but a coalition government seems incredibly unlikely now given how far the Tories have sunk. Plus the SNP self destruction has given Labour even more seats.

Nobodies really talking about it but I was looking for a nursery for my child a while ago and none of the nurseries had heard anything about the government funding they're meant to be getting. Apparently it's rated as amber/red by the government. If the whole thing blows up it's going to be a huge scandal so it's probably good to get out in front of it.

This has never been a genuine policy. They basically said they were gonna do it because Labour were gonna do it.

Ian Duncan Smith on BBC News just now explaining that we must vote for Sunak because he's a badass who stands in the rain, compared with Starmer who is harbouring an army of Corbynistas .
