Bring location back. Bring joined date back.

Whilst I agree with all of this, we are just experimenting with a few things.

I don't like it. It looks sparse and bare now, and the new sized avatars are messing up the formatting on posts.

I fail to see anything good in this experiment.

And me.
I don't see how it can mess up the page format unless you're running an archaic resolution of 800x600.

I'm on my iPod at the moment and it looks fine. Same as it ever has

I think we need screenshots from those complaining that it's strawberry floating up the page layout.

Just logged on now and noticed the changes over the weekend. Have to say I'm not a fan. :( No need for bigger avatars and it makes the site more easy to spot from lurking managers. I've had to adblock most or them. As for getting rid of the info under the avatars, why? Surely more info is better? Please sort it out. :?

If you do most of your browsing in a work environment you should probably disable signitures and avatars alike in the Display Settings section of the User Control Panel anyway.

No worries mate. It makes the forum a bit drab but it's certainly work-friendly. :)

Bigger Avatars are fine.

Why not just add the post count and location back anyway? There's a massive space there. I honestly don't see peoples problems with bigger avatars jesus christ use a better resolution.

Are there really that many people who want to keep to the restrictions issued by Future back in 2002? Do you all want the forum to be slow as gooseberry fool too just to keep it the same?

Don't like the bigger avatars. They're distracting and most of them look out of place and out of proportion with other things on the forum. This can also be partly attributed to them appearing in between other bits of user info. The avatar should go at the top and the user rank should be put underneath.

Losing the post count and the location thing is fine, though. It wasn't important info.

Bloody hell this place has changed since I last logged on. For what it's worth, 80x80 is perfect. I better start finding a new dress to wear.

That doesn't make any sense. How would the forum get slower by having smaller avatars? If anything, it'd get faster?

Old GR was really quite slow compared to here (occasional downtime aside) and people wanting to keep everything as close to that forum as possible when it was rarely updated in its six year lifespan just makes zero sense to me.

I think we should go back to phpBB 2, as well, and get rid of all the embedding tags and spoiler tags and such.

Fair enough. No one wants it to be exactly the same as old GR but I'd rather have post count and location back than a bigger avatar. It's not like you had to squint at the image in the first place. 80*80 does seem rather intrusive.

Not really, the panel on the left is exactly the same size it always was. They are far less intrusive than image sigs.
