PostPost old stuff you used to own.

Simple nostalgia thread this, post pics of stuff you owned and used once upon a time.

I shall start by introducing my first radio which i received for christmas when i was 8, a Hitachi 3D Super Woofer! It had 60 watt output (even now i don't know what that means other than it's quite loud), a graphic equaliser (all i knew was turning them up made things louder), two tape decks, and lots of other random bells and whistles.

Image

Next up, my first Matsui VCR, also a christmas gift in 1992, and i was still using it in 2001.

Image

Anyhow, now it's your turn, go.

My mum used to use this to dry my hair. Looking back it's probably why I strawberry floating hated my childhood hair and shaved it off at the first opportunity (got a ponytail now so got over it!)

One of my favourite childhood gadgets was the gameboy camera and printer, my parents got in me from a Dixon’s while we were on holiday along with a red gameboy pocket and I absolutely loved it, I still have it somewhere in storage at my parents so this is a google image sadly

My first phone. I kind of miss it, even though it's not that great by today's standards.

Loved the Game Boy Camera back in the day! Barely any quality to the photos whatsoever but great fun. My mate and I used to make comic strips using the camera and printer.

Thread needs more 90s TV ads

I almost ended up with one of those for my first phone as it was one of two possible choices at the time, in the end though, i chose this instead...

Image

On a separate note, this was my first ever walkman, though it's a shame i can't find a better pic...

My 7 year old self listened to many classics on this, including Midnight Oil: Beds are Burning, and Queen's I Want It All.

My first mobile phone. It was a hand-me-down from my father.

That may be, but it was also tough as old boots, didn't matter how much punishment the little walkman was subjected to, it still carried on working.

I meant the size, that photo makes it look tiny.

My first mobile phone was the Motorola StarTac in 1996. It was amazing tech at the time; phones were still, generally, huge at that point and the StarTac was relatively tiny. My phone provider was One-2-One and the contract included a MIGHTY thirty minutes of phone calls per month   .

Oh! I just remembered the incredible Steer 'n Go! This was a vehicle-driving toy from the 1970s; you placed a small magnet onto the base of a Matchbox car and then placed the car onto the large, plastic driving course disc. The disc was spun by a battery-powered motor device and the steering wheel moved a magnet underneath the disc; allowing you to "steer" the car as the disc moved round. It was fantastic fun!

My first mobile was that exact one but in blue, it was from Woolworths and it was around £100, I was the one of, if not the first in my school to have a mobile

Image

Then the next one I had I think was the one below, it was on BT Cellnet "U" and I'm sure because my friends had them we got free calls and texts to each other

Image

it seemed like from then I would get a new phone every month as things started changing really quickly and they had rapid improvements, two of my favourites were the Nokia 7600 and 5510

Image

Image

There were loads more like the N Gage and a flip phone that was my first full colour phone that had a really good shooting game on it

This one was my very first videogame of any kind. We got it about 6 months to a year before the family's first console (a MegaDrive):

I never did get very far with it. Useless garbage.
