I thought as much. I have a good selection of side bits to do, so i didnt want to push on too far and almost accidently finish it.

Hexx wrote:It's tricky cus there's side stuff etc - but yeah you're pretty close to the end (assuming you're on the keys to the kingdom mission)

Yes that's what I'm on. I had an escape pod key for a while and I'm pretty sure I could have used the one in the garden to get away a good 5 or so hours ago.

I must be right at the end now. I've done a load of side quests (and picked up more along the way). Now I'm in the shuttle bay and I've just gained access to the shuttle.. Hacked the computer in there and found out about some guy hiding somewhere that I need to optionally go and find. I've also opted to take the big bad guy out passively, not to sure how to do that yet. Previously I'd saved some woman by getting her medication, and some guy in a pod so they're both in the office helping out.

Not sure if it's a glitch or it was meant to happen and you're supposed to wonder if it was a glitch, but January blurted out some passive dialogue while I was in the office crafting. He just said, "you've been in the simulation for 3 weeks now and we can't wake you up" (or something along those lines, but the rest of his dialogue was to do with the current mission, so I'm pretty sure that just spoiled the ending  If that IS what's going on, then I'd kind of guessed, with the enemy names (mostly) all being dream related. Weaver, nightmare etc.

I never noticed the naming convention. That's really clever.

Games wot I worked on:
Night Call: Out now!
Rip Them Off: Out now!
Chinatown Detective Agency: 2021!
EXOGATE Initiative: Early Access Summer 2021

I think it's literally just those two

Mimic, Crystoid, Telepath, Phantom, Technopath and Poltergiest aren't

I finished this last night, and reading up on it after it appears I got the 'Good ending'.

I put the signal into the coral and wiped out the typhoon that way. I saved the woman with duff legs and the scientist in the pod. I neutralises the guy peacfully to go in the shuttle.I didn't bother tracking down the imposter chef. I saved Alex at the end and killed January. I thought the hidden place was very clever in the way it rolled off everything you've done via speech. Must have taken a lot of different variations to record those.

I have mooncrash to play next but I think I'll leave it a while. Total play time Was 21 hours.

Finished this last night too. I really enjoyed it overall but definitely thought the last couple of hours dragged, mainly because I was pretty overpowered so nothing was a threat and those final parts have you backtracking a lot through several loading screens that were fairly lengthy on my shite old HDD.

I did chuckle when the achievement "Push The Fat Guy" popped up after killing Alex.

Getting into this on gamepass for the last few nights.

I'm enjoying it so far! I've gone in without knowing a thing about it, apart from memories of the Old prey games on PC.

It's nothing like I expected, quite system shock / bio shock so far.
And I'm moving about the levels so slowly like an unhinged cat, often carrying a turret like a coward for fear of a mimic appearing out of nowhere

Any recommendations for best neuromods to get early in the game?

It's been so nice to see this get another lease of life on GP, it's the best game of the last 5 years IMO

Neuromod wise it really is up to you based on how you want to play, the whole game is really about giving the player options for different approaches and tactics and experimentation with your tools, powers and surroundings is a huge part of the experience. If you want to go down a combat route then Combat Focus is handy and the skills that let you upgrade weapons further will be useful to. But like I say so many options are available and you may just prefer to avoid combat as often as possible in which case hacking/manipulation skills may be more your bag. I played it very stealthy on my first go and it was a very satisfying experience

The upgrades that improves your recycling ability, or ones that let you loot more stuff from enemies are handy as well, your ability to find resources and put them to use is important so those upgrades are worth pursuing early

I've played through this game three times. I've discovered new things about it each time. I'm definitely going to replay it again at some point.

Realised last night that I've probably made a cock up.
I found two of those foam crossbow toys and recycled them both, thinking that a no-damage weapon is pointless.

...it's a distraction technique isn't it? :fp:

Oh boy, the boltcaster has so many uses! It's one of the best things in the game!

Don't worry you can find more

You can even find the plans to fabricate one as well.

I mainly used it for pressing door unlock buttons through broken windows when I didn't have a key card.

I used it mainly for the following:

* Distracting enemies I didn't want to, or wasn't yet able to, fight
* Drawing enemies towards a location where I had set a trap to then kill them more easily
* Activating door buttons through windows or other geometry gaps to get to places that are locked (it rebounds off surfaces so you can even hit buttons that you can't actually see! )
* Same as above but for activating touch screens, the tips of the foam bullets work on these screens so you can interact with computers that are otherwise out of reach!
* Killing cystoids - they are attracted to motion so firing a foam dart near them will cause them all to chase it and explode which clears the way

It's one of my favourite things in the game :D

Yeah I'm pretty sure you can find the plans quite early if you explore fully

strawberry float I think I used to to open a switch through a window once late in the game and never again. So many uses I didn't even think of.

Been playing this at the moment on PC, just got the scanning thing. It's very Bioshock and I like it.

I need to do a replay where I use the Typhon mods, I avoided them completely in my last playthroughs.

Stop tempting me to buy more games!

It really sounds like it's worth a look and it's currently on sale on PlayStation.
