"Alright I should leave this area for now, I need to stock up ammo and such before go back to area to contuine story. Let's go to main character's office."

Boom Nightmare :dread:

Ran to office, thinking I'd be safe... Unfortunately it can and will chase me... So I ran and hide behind the screen (that I broke) and when I did evade it, it killed January

Had to reload, but yikes. Hopefully it's not too common occurance

Once it is "live" the Nightmare will show up on a regular schedule from that point on - if you kill it then it will return after a 30 minute cool down period, if you evade it then it will return after 20 minutes. It only reappears when you change area though, so if you kill it and then spend 30 minutes in the same area it won't reappear until you move through a load screen to a new area.

It's great when it causes you to have to adapt and find an ingenious way to either survive or take it down, but sadly more often that not it is just an annoyance (albeit one that is a great source of fabrication materials!)

Ahh cool, cheers.

Just hope it doesn't get in way when I'm looking for survivors/dead bodies (mostly for ach but they also add more to the story/gives cool stuff, why not?)

Though I'm worried that might be strawberry floated up because

I helped two people escape by manually triggered escape pod but when I checked employee list there's no tick next to their names :X

Ahh well, can always play Ng, think I'll play this lot. Maybe four playthroughs at minimum!

Just checking up on what I said there, apparently if you have gone heavy on the Typhon neuromods then the Nightmare can actually spawn mid-area! Most of my playthroughs have focused on human abilities so I didn't pick up on this, the times I have gone full Typhon I haven't really been hanging around long enough to notice anyway!

I love the fact that you can track down the crew, either by stumbling on them or by using the security terminals, and yeah you do get some nice extra equipment and story from doing it. It's also a good way to discover new areas, there are places on the station I might never have gone if a tracking bracelet hadn't told me there was someone there!

Oh wow, I plan to do that next run as I'm also only focusing on human powers as well.

Yeah at first I felt overwhelmed (like do I have to check all of these?!?!) but it's becoming one of things I really liked about Prey.

Once had the guy spawn basically on-top of me in the Neuromod lobby. Scared the gooseberry fool out of me.

Hah, yeah I can imagine that being something of a shock!

I need to spend some more time doing a Typhon powered run at this as I kind of raced through it last time.

Managed to get medicine to woman, but on way to get it Nightmare spawned in Life Support and I was like "I don't have time for this" and slide under him and got into gravity lift

I love how you actually have more than few ways to do the situation honestly.

Really glad to see Taf is enjoying the game more now. It's not perfect by any stretch, but I loved this game. I'm going to go back and do a third playthrough at some point, full typhoon abilities, trying not to use the human ones.

Think I'm near the end of game now.

Need to scan some coral stuff and then I could go and get second armed key (although I haven't even crafted first one). Not lot sidequests left to do either, and I have yet to spend any points on Typhon skill tree

Should be able to beat it on Saturday if not tomorrow.

Also one of sidequests: I did the escape pod one knowing it would lead to bad end/game over, but still had to see it for myself. Just think it's funny I got the sidequest quite early on in the game.

You don't really have much more to go Seven.

Yep, beaten it just shortly after I woke up then went ahead and did another playthrough, no mods. Gotta say that wasn't really fun to me, but then again I did rush through it.

Will reload the save and pick tychoon skills, and finish it that way so I can just play through ng+ with both skills.

Honestly glad this game doesn't have tacked on boss, brilliant game though. My first playthrough took me about 35~ hrs, and it was fun to explore through Talos I. The developer has arrived in favourite developers list of mine, tbh.

This was down to £4 on steam do I picked it up and started it this morning.

So far I'm loving it. Disonoured meets BioShock in space. Arkane make such believable and dense environments

Love this game. Don't worry about taking Typhoon powers. They are way more fun than just doing a purely human playthrough.

Started this the other day as well. I've spent about 3-4 hours just milling about the lobby area and like Ad7 said, the space is so believable. I went for the hard difficulty with all the survival options enabled and so far the sense of threat from enemies, particularly the phantoms, has enhanced the experience. I'm hoping it doesn't get ludicrously hard later, mind.

I'm about 4 hours in now. I've just been told I've got to destroy the station and go to find a destruct key. Starting to get my head aroind the layout a bit now, but not before thinking I'd been Mr sneak and opened a few doors to find it leads back to an area I've already been to :x

Looks great on pc, everything maxed out and really smooth frame rate. I'm just not used to using mouse and keyboard so much these days, so I'm pushing a few wrong keys in the heat of a battle or just staying crouched barely moving while the enemies batter me.

Was pretty cool when I realised that you can use the gloo Gun to make steps up walls. I figured it out by accident and thought I'd found a thing you weren't supposed to do, then a bit later had it already done leading to a corpse as a tutorial or sorts.
