I think it will be a mish mash of ideas / lots of mini games based on existing Nintendo games (smash bros, Mario Party etc) - taking place on small stage. Guess Nintendo are hoping this will serve as a gateway for new a new audience.

She still seems to be a proper 'girly-girl' here which is fine but maybe a little outdated. Surprised they didn't characterise Peach a little more like how she was portrayed in the Mario Movie, which was still faithful to how we think of Peach but gave her a little more depth which I appreciated. Not a problem but the film plus the emphasis on animation and character expression in Wonder might have been a nice chance to modernize her; 'girly' is fine (I like Peach and however she is portrayed won't affect my enjoyment of the game)-she doesn't need to be full on Horizon Aloy but;

'Can you explain to me why the 'ell Peach [fuzz] doesn't have a beard?”

Demo is up now, seems like this is developed by Good Feel as many expected. Early feedback suggest it’s another very easy, cute platformer similar to GF’s Yoshi game, very much aimed towards kids so I’ll be passing on this until a deep sale on a physical copy.

Pre-ordered it. Bit like Mario Vs DK, if it released earlier in the Switch life and I hadn't already played all the games I REALLY wanted to play I wouldn't be that interested.

Having followed it a little it does look brilliant though. Like the Yoshi game which went fully into crafts and construction, this looks like it's committed to the stage/theatre theme with stage ropes etc, which could be interesting. Seems to have a Mario 64 style castle hub world too. It will be a bit easy but looks fun and colourful with lots of variety.

Excited for it

played the demo, it's cute, its fun, very interested to play more of it. Peach sounds a little weird when she jumps though, cant make out the reason why.

Reviews are up and the game has a Metacritic of 75 after 58 reviews.

Landed where I expected really. Lack of depth isn't a surprise.

Still think it'll sell well.

Turns out this was directed by Etsunobu Ebisu, his first game in 25 years, that last game being? Goemon :toot:
